Revolutionary Tabletop Automation Prescription Validation, Counting and Filling System

Eyecon is a revolutionary pharmacy automation system Eyecon is fast becoming the preferred choice of pharmacies that have decided to automate their prescription filling process. Filling automation improves Rx accuracy, resulting in improved customer safety, inventory control and customer satisfaction, saving an average pharmacy thousands of dollars per year. Eyecon s unique Visual Counting System is up to 76% faster and significantly more accurate than manual counting. It helps reduce tedium and stress while allowing employees to spend more time with customers. Customers benefit from improved customer service and Rx accuracy.

How Eyecon works Operator display Machine vision camera Counting tray The Eyecon is a unique machine vision counting system. A camera mounted above the counting platter captures photo images used to count pills five times per second. An added benefit of the machine vision technology is the detection of pill fragments or foreign matter on the counting platter. The Eyecon alerts the operator when pill fragments or foreign matter are present on the counting platter. This feature ensures the quality of the prescriptions filled on the Eyecon. Barcode reader Dispensing spout Safety Validation mode ensures customer safety with proper dispensing. Separate sulfa and penicillin platters prevent crosscontamination. Speed Counts poured pills in 200 ms, updating pill count up to 5 times per second. Accuracy Field-tested near 100%. Sulfa/penicillin platter storage Confidence Open design ensures quick and easy visual inspection of medication. Quality Recognizes and identifies tablet fragments and foreign material on platter. Versatility Counts all sizes and shapes of capsules and tablets. Can also be used for validation and inventory of ointments, creams, solutions and pre-packs. Longevity Regular updates to drug database and user interface. Cleaning No hidden compartments or disassembly required. The highlighted shadow images represented on the left side of the display illustrate the location of the pill fragments or foreign matter on the counting platter.

Rx validation mode The Eyecon helps ensure that the medication dispensed into the vial matches what is on the prescription. A database containing full-color photographs of the pills shows the drug on screen for human visual verification. 1 2 3 Scan Label Scan NDC barcode on customer s prescription label. Scan Bottle Scan NDC barcode on stock bottle to validate that you ve pulled the correct medication. Verify Eyecon will proceed to count mode if Rx label matches the stock bottle. Eyecon will display error if mismatch is detected. 4 5 6 Count Pills Count using on-screen digits and/or color coding (see below). Dispense Slide pills into funnel. Fill Vial Use spout to dispense pills to patient vial. Simplified Counting For prescription labels that include the quantity with the NDC in the barcode, the Eyecon will color code the counting screen to indicate count status. Blue screen indicates under count. Green screen indicates correct count. Red screen indicates over count.

Physical inventory mode Use Eyecon to periodically check physical inventory. Using the same process as standard pill counting, the Eyecon quickly counts pills from stock bottles. 1. Scan the stock bottle at Eyecon. 2. Pour the pills onto the tray. The Eyecon counts the pills just as if it were counting them to fill a prescription. If your stock bottle contains more than what the tray will hold, use the accumulate function so you can empty the tray and resume counting. 3. Store records. Press the finish button to store the record as a.csv file which can be easily transferred to common spreadsheet programs. Export data to a USB jump drive and import into a spreadsheet for inventory management/reporting. Reduce carrying costs by increasing inventory turnover and reducing buildups. Free up staff to conduct more patient consultations by minimizing time spent on ordering and receiving product. Conduct physical inventories more frequently, with improved speed, accuracy and efficiency.

Research shows Eyecon is fastest. Prescription filling process was timed from stock bottle (start) to patient vial (finish). Process was performed 5 times to calculate average Rx fill time.
