As a Junior Software Developer, you will... Provide expert support to the business by fulfilling various programming & script requests, fixes and enhancements Analyse the performance of our platform, designing and developing improvements to maintain the success we have already achieved Support the development of exciting new functionality to the SaleCycle platform, learning and growing your technology experience as you go! Essentially you will... Have basic software development skills in.net, MVC and JavaScript Ideally come with awareness of or exposure to Service Oriented Architecture and database reporting tools (SQL, Oracle etc) Be passionate and willing to grow your skills across a variety of technologies, building a career in IT Be able to analyse data and problem solve effectively using out of the box ideas Also be a committed team player, able to integrate easily into our close-knit environment A recent degree in computer science, maths or physics is attractive. Junior Software Developer Role Description Purpose To support the development and maintenance of the SaleCycle platform, continuously learning and updating, to offer a leading edge service and accommodate increased demand due to continued business growth. Belongs within: Reports to: Technology Team Development Team Leader Direct Reports: 0 Responsibilities Conduct analysis on current systems and process, gathering data on flaws, issues, bugs, short fallings, in order to address these in future, creating a more effective service. Design and develop language behind our software, within a MVC environment, conducting testing throughout the process to ensure any bugs or issues that arise are addressed, to maintain effective performance of our product. Work collaboratively with a team of internal Developers to conduct testing, plan development releases ( sprints ) and gain support when necessary, whilst providing regular updates on platform progress, in order for the team to gradually transfer from one area of focus to another. Once live, conduct continuous improvements and developments (planned and reactional), evaluating success and building on it in order to maintain our leading edge technology status. Provide a support service to the other areas of the business, in the form of queries, reports, change requests etc, in order to maintain business performance and an environment of collaboration and teamwork. Requirements: Has knowledge of software development in.net, JavaScript and MVC Awareness of Service Oriented Architecture and SQL, Oracle or a similar database reporting tool (desirable) A recent degree in computer science, Maths of Physics, or related qualification (desirable)
