Configure Directory Associations SECTION 1 Configure Directory Associations In this set of exercises, you configure GroupWise 2014 to connect to and use user data from Novell edirectory and from Microsoft Active Directory. You do the following: 1. Configure Directory Synchronization - edirectory on page 6 2. Configure Multi-Directory Synchronization on page 20 3. Install the imanager Management Plug-in on page 26 4. Install the Windows MMC Plug-in on page 30 5

ATT8367-Novell GroupWise 2014 and the Directory-Labs Exercise 1-1 Configure Directory Synchronization - edirectory In this exercise, you do the following: Create a New Directory on page 6 Associate Users on page 7 Import Users on page 9 Synchronize the Directory on page 12 Create a New Directory 1. From the DA-OES virtual machine desktop, launch the GroupWise Admin console. 2. Login as gwadmin with the password of n0v3ll. 3. From the Administration panel on the left, select Users. 4. From the Users list, select MGillen; then, from the displayed properties page, select the General tab. The following is displayed: Notice that there is no information about a connection to an external directory source. 5. Select Close. 6. From the Administration panel on the left, select System. 7. From the System page, select the option for LDAP Servers; then select New Directory. 6

Enter or select the following: Name: DA-Tree Description: Connection to the DA-Tree Type: edirectory Address: 172.17.8.100 LDAP User: cn=admin,ou=slc,o=da LDAP User Password: n0v311 Base DN: o=da Sync Domain: slcdom 9. Select Test Connection. The following is displayed: 10. Verify that the check-box for Enable Synchronization is selected; then select OK. The DA-Tree directory is added to the list: 11. Select Close. Associate Users 1. From the System page, select Directory Associations. 7

ATT8367-Novell GroupWise 2014 and the Directory-Labs 2. From the Directory drop-down, verify that DA-Tree is selected; then for Context, select the Browse icon. 3. If prompted for an LDAP User Password, enter n0v3ll; then select OK. 4. Expand the DA-TREE; then select the IS.SLC container as shown below: 5. Select OK; then select Preview. Under the Preview section, you see the following: 8

Configure Directory Associations 6. From the bottom of the page, select Associate. The users are successfully associated: 7. Select Close. 8. From the Administration panel, select Users. 9. From the Users list, select mgillen; then, from the displayed properties page, select the General tab. The following is displayed: Notice the connection to the edirectory tree. 10. Select Close. Import Users 1. From the Administration panel on the left, select System. 2. From the System page, select the option for User Import 9

ATT8367-Novell GroupWise 2014 and the Directory-Labs 3. From the Directory drop-down, verify that DA-Tree is selected; then, from the Post Office drop-down, select SLCPO. 4. For Context, select the Browse icon. 5. Expand the DA-TREE to display the SLC container as shown below: 6. Select OK. 7. Select the check-box for Search Sub tree; then select Preview Under the Preview section, you see the following: 10

Configure Directory Associations 8. Scroll to the bottom of the Preview list. At the bottom of the list, you see the following two users: 9. For both users, select the X. The two users are excluded from the import: 10. Select Import Users. Users from the SLC container are successfully imported: 11. Select Close. 12. From the Administration panel, select Users. 13. From the Users list, select AOsmond; then, from the displayed properties page, select the General tab. The following is displayed: 11

Using the information from the previous task, review the general properties of the AOsmond user. Notice the value for Title in the Contact Information section. 2. In Firefox, select File > New Tab; then select the bookmark for Novell imanager. The imanager login screen is displayed: 12

Configure Directory Associations 3. Login as admin.slc.da with the password of n0v3ll to the da-tree tree. 4. From the left panel, scroll to the bottom of the Roles and Tasks list; then select the Users role. 5. Select Modify User. You see the Modify User screen: 6. For Username, type aosmond.slc.da; then select OK. 7. From the AOsmond General > Identification page, to the right of the Title filed, select the icon. 13

Save the changes to the AOsmond user by selecting Apply. 10. In Firefox, switch to the GroupWise Administration Console tab. 11. From the Administration panel on the left, select System. 12. From the System page, select the option for LDAP Servers; then select the DA- Tree directory. 13. From the bottom of the DA-Tree dialog, select Sync. At the top of the dialog, you see the following: 14. Select OK; then from the Publish Email dialog, select No. 15. From the LDAP Servers and Directories list, select Close. 16. From the Administration panel on the left, select Message Transfer Agents; then, from the MTA list, select MTA. 17. From the MTA General page, select Launch MTA console shown below: 18. Trust the Untrusted Connection; then, when prompted, login as webadmin with the password of n0v3ll. The MTA page is displayed: 14

Configure Directory Associations 19. From the menu bar, select Log Files; then, from the log file list, select the file marked with an asterisk. 20. Select View Events; then scroll through the log file until you see the following: 21. Close the MTA log browser tab and the MTA Console browser tab. 22. From the Administration panel, select Users. 23. From the Users list, select AOsmond; then, from the displayed properties page, select the General tab. The following is displayed: 15

From the AOsmond General > Identification page, to the right of the Title filed, select the icon. 26. Change the value from General Manager to CEO; then select OK. 27. Save the changes to the AOsmond user by selecting Apply; then switch to the Admin Console. You see the General properties of the AOsmond user: 16

Configure Directory Associations 28. From the buttons at the top of the page, select Synchronize. You see that the sync was successful. 29. Select the General tab. 30. From the Administration panel on the left, select System. 31. From the System page, select the option for LDAP Servers; then select the DA- Tree directory. 32. Select the Email Publishing tab. 17

From the Publish Email dialog, select No; then select Close. 35. From the Administration panel, select Users. 36. From the Users list, select AOsmond; then, from the More drop-down button, select Publish Email as shown below: 37. In Firefox, switch to the Novell imanager tab. 38. from the AOsmond property page, select Refresh; then, when prompted to continue, select OK. 18

ATT8367-Novell GroupWise 2014 and the Directory-Labs Exercise 1-2 Configure Multi-Directory Synchronization In this exercise, you do the following: Add an Additional Directory on page 20 Import Users on page 21 Add an Additional Directory 1. Switch to the Admin Console. 2. From the Administration panel on the left, select System. 3. From the System page, select the option for LDAP Servers; then select New Directory. 4. Enter or select the following: Name: DA-AD Description: Connection to the AD Domain Type: Active Directory Address: 172.17.8.140 LDAP User: administrator@digitalairlines.com LDAP User Password: n0v311 Base DN: dc=digitalairlines,dc=com Sync Domain: slcdom 5. Select Test Connection. The following is displayed: 20

Configure Directory Associations 6. Verify that Enable Synchronization is checked; then select OK. The DA-AD directory is added to the list. 7. Select Close. Import Users 1. From the System page, select the option for User Import 2. From the Directory drop-down, verify that DA-AD is selected; then, from the Post Office drop-down, select SLCPO. 3. For Context, select the Browse icon. 4. If prompted for an LDAP User Password, enter n0v3ll; then select OK. 5. Select the Users container as shown below: 21

Configure Directory Associations 9. Select Close. 10. From the Administration panel, select Users. 11. From the controls at the top of the list, click in the Search User Name field. 12. In the Search User Name field, enter directory=da-tree You see only the users imported from the edirectory tree: 13. In the Search User Name field, enter directory=da-ad You see only the users imported from the AD Domain: 23

From the buttons at the top of the page, select More > Dissociate. 16. Select OK; then select the General tab. Notice that no association information is displayed. 17. Select More > Associate. The following is displayed: 18. For Directory, verify that DA-AD is selected; then, for LDAP User, select the Browse icon. 19. Expand Users; then, from the list of users, select Michael Gillen. 20. Select OK; then, from the Associate dialog, select OK. 21. Select the General tab. 24

ATT8367-Novell GroupWise 2014 and the Directory-Labs Exercise 1-3 Install the imanager Management Plug-in In this exercise, you do the following: Install the GroupWise 2014 Plug-in on page 26 Test the Plug-in on page 28 Install the GroupWise 2014 Plug-in 1. In Firefox, switch to the imanager tab; then, if necessary login to imanager as shown below. 2. From the imanager tool bar, select the icon for Configure as shown below: 3. From the Configure pane on the left, select Plug-in Installation > Available Novell Plug-in Modules. 4. Select Add; then in the Plug-in module(npm) file field, enter /root/groupwise.npm 5. Select OK. 6. Select the check-box for the GroupWise Plugins; then, from the menu bar, select Install. 26

Configure Directory Associations You see that the plug-in is successfully installed. 7. Select Close. 8. Select Close; then logout of imanager. 9. Minimize Firefox. 10. Right-click the desktop; then select Open in Terminal. 11. Enter the following: rcnovell-tomcat6 restart Wait while tomcat restarts. 12. Close the Terminal window. 13. Maximize Firefox; then login to imanager as admin.slc.da with the password of n0v3ll to the da-tree tree. 14. From the imanager tool bar, select the icon for Configure as shown below: 15. From the Configure pane on the left, select Role Based Services > RBS Configuration. 16. Under the Not-Installed column, select 1. 27

ATT8367-Novell GroupWise 2014 and the Directory-Labs 17. Select the check-box for GroupWise; then, under the Not-Installed Modules heading, select Install. 18. When prompted to install the selected module, select OK. The following is displayed: 19. Select OK. Test the Plug-in 1. From the imanager tool bar, select the icon for Roles and Tasks as shown below. 2. From the Roles and Tasks pane on the left, select Users > Modify User; then, in the Username field, enter ltracy.lga.da Notice the GroupWise tab. 3. Select the GroupWise tab; then select the GroupWise Configuration page. The GroupWise server connection details page is displayed: 4. Enter the following: Enter GroupWise Admin Service URL: https://da-oes.digitalairlines.com Enter GroupWise Admin Service Port: 9710 Enter LDAP server ID: DA-Tree 28

Configure Directory Associations Enter GroupWise Admin Username: gwadmin Enter GroupWise Admin Password: n0v3ll 5. Select Apply; then select the Post Office Selection page. 6. From the Post Office drop-down, select SLCPO.SLCDOM; then select OK. 7. In Firefox, switch to the GroupWise Administration Console tab; then, from the Administration panel, select Users. 8. From the controls at the top of the list, click in the Search User Name field. 9. In the Search User Name field, enter ltracy. You see the LTracy user object: 10. Select LTracy; then, from the displayed properties page, select the General tab. The following is displayed: 11. Select Close. (End of Exercise) 29

ATT8367-Novell GroupWise 2014 and the Directory-Labs Exercise 1-4 Install the Windows MMC Plug-in In this exercise, you do the following: Install the GroupWise Plug-in on page 30 Test the Plug-in on page 32 Install the GroupWise Plug-in 1. Switch to the DA-AD VM. 2. Open Windows Explorer; then browse to and display the contents of the c:\groupwise folder. 3. Double-click setup.exe. The Installation menu appears: 4. Select GroupWise MMC Plugin. Wait while the MMC Plugin setup starts. 5. Verify that English is selected; then select OK. 30

Configure Directory Associations 6. Select Next. 7. From the End-User License Agreement screen, select the check-box for I accept the terms of the license agreement; then select Next. 8. From the Custom Setup screen, note the installation location; then select Next. 9. From the Ready to Install Novell GroupWise MMC Plugin screen, select Install. When completed, you see the following: 10. Verify that the Configure check box is selected; then select Finish. 31

Enter the following: Admin Service IP/Address or Hostname: da-oes.digitalairlines.com Admin Service Port: 9710 Ldap Config ID: DA-AD User Name: gwadmin Password: n0v3ll 12. Select Test. The following is displayed: 13. Select OK; then, from the Configuration dialog, select OK. 14. Select OK; then close all open windows. Test the Plug-in 1. From the Windows tool bar, select the icon for Active Directory Users and Computers. 2. Select the Users container as shown below: 3. From the tool bar, select the icon for Create New User as shown below. 32

Configure Directory Associations 4. Enter the following: First name: Jerry Last name: Lewis User logon name: jlewis 5. Select Next; then, from the Password dialog, for both Password and Confirm password, enter n0v3ll. 6. Select Next. You see the dialog added by the plugin for selecting a GroupWise Post Office: 33

ATT8367-Novell GroupWise 2014 and the Directory-Labs 7. From the Select GroupWise Post Office drop-down, select SLCPO.SLCDOM; then select Next. Note the information about the GroupWise Extension. 8. Select Finish; then close Active Directory Users and Computers. 9. Switch to the DA-OES virtual machine. 10. From the controls at the top of the Users list, click in the Search User Name field. 11. In the Search User Name field, enter jlewis You see the jlewis user object: 12. Select jlewis; then, from the displayed properties page, select the General tab. The following is displayed: 34
