About this Article This article describes how to use the Central Suite Installer (CSI) to check for the presence of the Microsoft.NET Framework 4 on a workstation. If Microsoft.NET Framework 4 is found to be missing the option to install it is offered. The CSI will also check for the presence of other Central Suite prerequisites and present the option install if any are found to be missing. The Microsoft.NET Framework 4 is a Central Suite prerequisite from version 2013.3 (due to be released in October 2013). Starting the Installer The steps below should be carried out on each workstation that you wish to check for, and if necessary install,.net Framework 4. Logon to the workstation ensuring that you have local administration rights. CTRL + Click this link to go to the CCH Software Support website From the top menu bar select Resources > Download Centre. Logon as usual. Click the [+} to expand CCH Central Suite Installer (CSI) and open the CCH Central Suite Installer page. After reading the page carefully and ensuring that you understand the content, click the START at the foot of the page. The CSI Home page will appear as shown in the image below. Click Run. Depending on the local security settings and the components that need to be installed, file security warnings and Microsoft licence messages may appear, an example of which is shown in the image below. Click Run to any security warnings. The CSI will now check for the presence of.net Framework 4, and all other prerequisites including: Microsoft NET Framework 3.5 SP1 Microsoft Windows Installer 4.5 Microsoft.NET Framework 4 Microsoft Core XML Services 6.0 If any prerequisites are not found, the option to install them will be offered. Accept each prerequisite install offered. Illustrated below is the installer for the Microsoft.NET Framework 4. After installation is complete a reboot may be requested, as described below. After checking that all other programs on the work station are closed, click Yes. Once the reboot is complete logon to the work station and answer any Run prompts to continue with the CSI. Once installation of any missing prerequisites is complete, or If all the prerequisites are found to be present, the CCH Installer Server logon will be offered. The Microsoft.NET Framework 4, and all other required Central Suite prerequisites, and now present on the work station. It is not necessary to logon to the CSI, instead click Exit.
