A newly designed interface is designed specifically for poll workers who have little or no training. A highly intuitive interface lets them look up voters by entering a first or last name, scanning a driver s license bar code or reading the magnetic stripe, or entering any other identifier you choose, such as a voter ID number. This simplicity keeps lines moving quickly on election day. While the Advocate system offers an intuitive interface and easy operation, it also features highly advanced security features that protect both your process and your voter registration data. Audit trails, data encryption technology and tiered password systems provide strong lines of defense against intentional or unintentional theft and fraud. Advantages over a client-server architecture Unlike other electronic voter processing solutions, the Advocate system does not employ a client-server architecture. This eliminates the possibility of a single server crash paralyzing your entire election. Individual electronic poll books are deployed at each site and linked together on a secure mesh. Each one functions as a stand-alone system, replicating data to other poll books in real time with no server needed. If one computer goes down, the workload for that device can be shifted to another one at the same site seamlessly. So, your election is not contingent on the health and availability of a single or multiple servers. In addition to this critical uptime capability, our network architecture allows you to add or delete electronic poll books from a site while the election is in progress with no interruption to the voter registration flow.
