Open Access/HMO Network Available in Northern Illinois As of September 1, 2012, HealthLink s Open Access/HMO network program is available in northern Illinois. The Open Access network design provides deeper discounts at the in-network level, which means greater cost savings for health plans and their membership. HealthLink s Open Access III program is a three-tier network option, providing benefits with an HMO in-network, PPO in-network and an out-of-network coverage level. HealthLink s Open Access II configuration is designed primarily as a two-tier benefit coverage, with a typical plan providing HMO innetwork and out-of-network coverage. Both Open Access programs have the option to include inpatient and outpatient medical management and case management services. HealthLink s Open Access network program requirements include: A 20% benefit differential for network and out-of-network benefits. No less than 80% coinsurance for HMO providers. Deductibles less than $5,000. Out-of-pocket maximums not exceeding $10,000. HealthLink providers allowed to collect out-of-pocket costs at the time of service. HealthLink Supports WellPoint s Community Service Initiative On April 28, more than 3,500 WellPoint associates, families and friends assisted 170 nonprofit organizations across the country, making a lasting impact on the lives of the people we serve and the health of our communities. Together, volunteers planted 202 trees, sorted 48,260 pounds of food for distribution, beautified 56 acres of land, and engaged with 750 seniors and children. Locally, 45 HealthLink associates, family and friends supported the following nonprofit organizations: St. Andrew s Tower Grove Manor St. Andrew s Resources for Seniors works to empower the elderly and their caregivers to have vital lives in which they are respected, productive and secure. WellPoint partnered with St. Andrew s Resources for Seniors to create opportunities for the adults living in the Tower Grove Manor facility to be healthy and socially engaged. Volunteer tasks included: Building a paver patio and connecting walkway; installing a dry well and water tolerant plants; updating landscaping and installing solar powered lights. Edgewood Children s Center Edgewood Children s Center provides compassionate care to restore children and strengthen families through intensive therapy, special education, case management and support services. WellPoint partnered with Edgewood Children s Center to create comfortable and inviting spaces that can be used recreationally by children and families that are part of Edgewood s client network. Volunteer tasks included: Painting 10 bedrooms in the Kresge Residential Unit; building two in-ground benches on the soccer/track field; and adding decorative shrubs outside the gym entrance and school. Life Skills Life Skills changes lives by helping people with developmental disabilities live in a home of their own, find and keep a job, and make friends by providing opportunities for education, job training or community participation. WellPoint partnered with Life Skills to enhance its facility, making it cleaner, safer and more functional for the clients it serves. Volunteer tasks included: Building one accessible raised bed and four HVAC trellis covers; building a 10 X 10 paver patio; adding landscaping to beautify exterior. Mary Ryder Home Mary Ryder Home provides seniors with a safe home, nutritional meals, and medical care, as well as an array of programs and services focused on promoting healthy aging plus physical and mental healthrelated quality of life. WellPoint partnered with Mary Ryder Home to enhance its facility, making it cleaner, safer and more functional for the seniors it serves.
