WHAT IS A PROGRAM OF STUDY? A Program of Study is a plan designed for students to successfully transition from high school to postsecondary education and careers. This sequence of courses includes both Academic & CTE courses The plan must lead to an industry-recognized credential, certificate, or degree. Federal legislation dictates that all institutions receiving Perkins funding must have at least one Program of Study in place. Program of Study should include one of the following: Dual Enrollment, High School for College Credit, Internship, Work-based learning experience (CTSO), or Industry Recognized Credential Certificate Transfer Program Four-Year Degree Two-Year Degree
WHY ARE BIG SKY PATHWAYS IMPORTANT? Pathways with Two-Year Institutions Two-Year Programs offer students the opportunity for: Dual Enrollment & High School for College Credit Work-Based Learning Experiences/Internships and interaction with Business & Industry Industry-recognized Credentials (CNA, Welding Certifications, etc.) Big Sky Pathways Provide Students with: An opportunity to explore and learn about careers prior to college An opportunity to begin college with credits already earned An opportunity to earn credentials that make you more employable. Confidence to succeed in college attained through interaction with college programs in high school Dual Enrollment Industry Credentials High School for College Credit Internships
