UNIT BREAKDOWN Unit One: Principles of building respectful and productive working relationships in organizations. This unit provides the learner with an understanding of the how to create a fair, supportive and rewarding working environment and the importance of communication in creating effective working relationships. The unit also provides an introduction to the practices of conflict resolution and conflict management in the workplace. UNIT BREAKDOWN Unit Three: Essential principles of leadership and management. This unit provides the learner with an understanding of the concepts of leadership and managerial effectiveness within organisations. The unit also provides an introduction to the principles and practices of managing the performance of individuals in organisations. Gaining insights on management and leadership in organisations and how to interpret and use the key terms such as levels, leadership, management,responsibility and accountability, vision and values Developing managerial effectiveness through delegation and various methods of leadership development. Managing workplace performance through formal performance management schemes and also through coaching and mentoring and the use of effective communication. Unit Four: Operational and human resources planning management. This unit provides the learner with an understanding of the principles and practice of operational planning and physical resource management In organisations. The unit also provides an introduction to health and safety requirements when managing work activities in organisations. Principles of operational planning and how to use some of the common tools and techniques. Managing physical resources and how to undertake workforce planning and talent management. Legal principles and how these are applied within an organisation through the use of health and safety policies and procedures and risk assessments.

UNIT BREAKDOWN Unit Five: Understanding organisational structure, culture and values This unit provides the learner with an understanding of the development and role that the structure of an organisation plays in it s effectiveness and the importance of an organisations' culture in the achievement of high performance. The unit also provides an introduction to the relationship between organisational values and organisational culture and behaviour.
