Treatment The Retreat at Westchester is a chemical dependency rehabilitation facility. The focus of this adult inpatient level of care is on recovery from alcoholism and other drug addictions. The patient and the referring clinician work collaboratively with the treatment team to design an optimal therapy plan. A comprehensive approach to sobriety and relapse prevention underlies all treatment team goals. Evaluation and Detoxification for Medically Compromised Patients During treatment at the Retreat, Weill Cornell and Columbia medical faculty and NewYork- Presbyterian Hospital staff are called upon for their expertise in the fields of personality disorders, dialectical behavioral therapy, geriatrics, eating disorders, and neurology. Patients whose conditions are complicated by neurological or other medical problems may be referred for specific assessments, testing, and treatment planning to Weill Cornell Medical College associates in Manhattan. Continuing Care Planning for continuing recovery begins on the day of admission in consultation with referring clinicians. Individualized discharge plans are developed with the patient, family members, and the referring clinician.
