Página 1 de 7 AREA: ENGLISH GRADE: FOUR GOAL: To prepare students to be able to understand and establish communication channels, accurately and fluently, in a variety of contexts which include (CORE: communication and Media, Global Issues, and Social Relationships; as well as OPTIONS: Cultural Diversity, Customs and Traditions, Science and Technology, Health and Leisure) through the progressive strengthening of the four skills of the language and the development of psycho-motor, socio-affective and critical thinking abilities. GOALS: -To write summaries taking into account the writing process as well as the written production assessment criteria (Language, Message and Format). - To understand grammatical concepts of subject pronouns and object pronouns, comparative and superlative forms of adjectives and the future (will) - To apply English grammar structures such as subject pronouns and object pronouns, comparative and superlative forms of adjectives and the future (will) in context. - To contribute to personal and group welfare through her positive attitude, respect, commitment and solidarity. -To recognize fiction and non-fiction texts in order to extract general and specific information using reading strategies such as literary elements and sequence in a written text. - To state and express ideas and opinions, as well as asking for and giving reasons to confirm or deny information in different communicative situations. - To elicit specific details from a written text, as well as from aural sources, in order to follow a sequence of instructions. - To use English at all times with the teacher and classmates using the correct vocabulary, structures, grammar tenses and pronunciation. What tools can help me think in different ways? What planning tools do I have? -Transfer: What are the big ideas of each of the different subjects? Do the big ideas of the subjects overlap? How can I use my knowledge, understanding and skills across subjects? ACTIVITIES: List of activities to be carried out and their methodology. For instance, debates, exhibitions, SmartBoard class, Power Point presentations, blogs, websites, simulations, readings, etc. ASSESSMENT: The students need to know the assessment criteria that will be used to evaluate their performance. Information on assessment must be given term by term. Students should be encouraged to reflect upon their own learning process through self-assessment and peer-assessment. Records of learning evidence must be kept to allow for reflection, so that students are able to reflect upon their achievements and to explain them in front of others. Evidence records allow both students and their teachers to assess progress in terms of knowledge, abilities, and understanding.
