Burnette Residence WEAVERVILLE, NC This residence is in some ways just a typical small, 3-bedroom mountain cottage. However, a majority of the home s heating is provided by a passive solar sun and distribution space in the central hallway, with proper orientation and a duct system to bring the solar heat to the other main living areas of the house. Levin Residence CHARLESTON, SC Daniel Island is a community with architecture reminiscent of the Charleston Peninsula. Erickson Residence BREVARD, NC The sustainable elements in this house include the central living space as an elevated bridge between the kitchen and master suite. Breezemont The Breezemont residence is a key part of Asheville s historic Albemarle neighborhood, but it was beginning to show exterior wear and in need of interior updates. Verdi prepared a detailed restoration plan for all masonry and wood, and floor plans that preserved the home s original feel and layout. w/wescott Assoc. Cheshire Village BLACK MOUNTAIN, NC Cheshire is a neotraditional neighborhood near downtown Black Mountain. The Sunset House was designed with the living spaces arranged to take full advantage of the western view. The Treetop House was designed for a very small, steep site, compact in floor plan with a precise articulation of space. The Blessing House SUMMERVILLE, SC This house was part of an old family estate near downtown Summerville, which is all now part of a small community that has been redone over the last twenty years. Bell Residence FLETCHER, NC This daylight basement rehab created an English pub and period pool hall environment, which front a high tech workout and multi-media room and a soundproof meditation room. All the interior trim and finishes, including the bar and back bar, were site-built from Verdi s custom design. Bearden Homes This project met with significant opposition from some residents of the historic Montford area, essentially because of basic design issues. Avery Creek Homes ARDEN, NC This small infill subdivision of Green homes has great access to regional transportation. The site plan was developed to create a feel of community through the street layout and porch locations, and to take advantage of the stream access as a neighborhood feature and gathering space. 2 College Street This project is part of a larger urban renewal project the Pack Square Renaissance Project by UDA to enhance downtown s City/County Plaza. This tax-credit rehab is home to the Cottonwood Café restaurant and basement cigar bar, with offices on the second floor and a loft condo on the top floor. w/cma Group. Tallman Building The structure is part of the Eagle/Market Street downtown revitalization movement. The proposed upfit will locate several residential units on the top floor over a dance studio, with the ground floor serving as a daycare center and the lower level for local small business incubation. The Sawyer Building This project is a mixed-use taxcredit rehab of an old auto repair building that is leading the way in one of downtown s newest urban renewal areas. It features ground floor retail and office space with twenty market rate residential condo units over an enclosed parking floor. Short Street Homes The Montford neighborhood houses a variety of housing. These infill homes were designed by Verdi one is a rehab of a structure moved from another part of the City, while the other two homes are modular units custom fabricated to satisfy this historic district design requirements.
