DUTY STATEMENT Registered Nurse 1. Attends to patient care including: admissions, discharges and transfers nursing assessment, care plan implementation and evaluation clinical pathways observations, dressings, general nursing care medication administration consultation with members of the health team education liaison with family/carers 2. Supervises enrolled/assistant nurses/student nurses Acts as a resource and educator where required 3. Maintains documentation appropriately 4. Acts as patient advocate/representative as required/needed 5. Provides/receives handover to/from nursing staff 6. Liaises with pathology/radiology re patient treatment/intervention 7. Communicates as required with Allied Health staff 8. Reports issues of concern to Registered Nurse in Charge including: Patient status Equipment faults Safety concerns 9. DUTY STATEMENT Registered Nurse In-Charge (Out of Hours) 1. All duties as per duty statement Registered Nurse 2. Supervises all nursing staff on the ward 3. Checks and adjusts staff as indicated by sick calls and/or patient activity seeks support from On Call NUM if unsure DDON, DON if unsure. 4. Gains approval for all planned overtime. 5. Communicates problems to NUM, RN In-Charge of Hospital, NUM DDON on call as appropriate 6. Responds to alarms and reports accordingly 7.
