Case Study Customer Profile: The client s India operations include 14 manufacturing facilities and over 6500 employees. Customers are served through extensive countrywide presence with around 30 marketing offices, 8 service centers, 3 logistics warehouses and a network of over 750 channel partners. Business Challenge: The customer has a presence in manufacturing, process and consumer industries; utilities, oil & gas, and infrastructure. There are several business divisions within the company and these units were using courier and fax for day to day communications a time consuming and error prone process. Another problem was the high implementation cost of SAP. The Solution: The customer set up a WAN and consolidated its servers to a single location, Bangalore. This helped in reducing the cost of implementing SAP. It replaced the old mode of communications with Lotus Notes messaging. Case Study Customer Profile: The client is an Engineering College offering bachelor degrees in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering affiliated. At present it offers degree programs in 10 disciplines and five post graduate programs. Business Challenge: It was required to connect 15 buildings of BEC campus wide networking through 1 Gbps backbone connectivity, upgradeable to 10 Gbps. It was required that all the buildings include 50 100 users LAN environment through CAT 6 cable and required access layer, distribution layer switching which support VLAN, QoS, security features etc. The complete campus needed wireless connectivity coverage and all HODs needed IP phones as part of VOIP implementation, video conferencing also being part of the solution. It was required to implement security for the LAN users as well as web servers, mail servers, and common file servers for protecting from external world threats.
