Introduction Audience This document is intended to instruct MITS Discover users in the use and creation of sidebar dashboards and dashboard objects from within MITS Discover. It is expected that the user has purchased MITS Dashboard or is evaluating MITS Discover. The user must have dashboard permissions enabled to effectively use this document. What is MITS Dashboard? MITS Dashboard is an add-on to MITS Discover. MITS Dashboard provides key business metrics at a glance by displaying the aggregated data of MITS Discover using simple, visual indicators to represent the data. For example, a stoplight could be used to represent a branch s year-to-date sales dollars, where it would appear green if the branch is meeting quota, and change to red when the branch falls below expectations. Dashboards A dashboard is a collection of indicators (called dashboard objects). They can be displayed in a collapsible pane on the left-hand side of the MITS Discover browser client (also known as a "sidebar" dashboard) or in the main MITS Discover screen (also known as a "full screen" dashboard). Dashboard Objects A dashboard object is an indicator made up from a combination of HTML, MWML (MitsWeb Markup Language), and MQL (MITS Query Language). Dashboard objects can contain a chart or graph, or information from an entire flash screen, a small section of a flash screen, or even a single cell. Before You Begin Here s what will need to happen before you can start using MITS Dashboard. All of these items are outlined in detail in the MITS Discover Installation Guide document.
