Why Facebook Ads? When setup correctly, Facebook Ads are one of the fastest, most affordable ways to grow your traffic, subscribers, and sales. Plus, it's some of the highest quality traffic that you'll find online. Paid traffic is a consistent source of traffic that you can put on autopilot. And more importantly, you can scale paid traffic. It's VERY hard to scale free traffic because you just don't have nearly as much control over it.
But with paid traffic, you're able to setup an ad, click a button, and get visitors to your website on demand. 2. What should you be promoting on Facebook? (i.e. your lead magent) Free Report Free Cheat Sheet Webinars Free Challenges (30-Day Fitness Challenge, 30-Day Writing Challenge, Etc...) Discount Codes Blog Posts Videos Etc... Give value FIRST. Get them on your list FIRST. Build a relationship. And then work on converting that into a sale. After you've established your value. After you've built a relationship with them through your email series. * What you promote is not nearly as important as the HOOK. Or what I like to call the BIG IDEA. What s one BIG problem in your niche? What s the BIGGEST desire people have in your market? Create a HOOK around that ONE big problem or that ONE big desire. *** (Give an overview of your ad.) - Show Fan Page Being targeted. Budget, Bidding, Etc... 3. Ads Targeting But the ONE big key I focus on when setting up ads are the specific Fan Pages I want to target. This is by far one of the biggest keys that will determine the success or failure of your ad. You want your ad to appear in front of a very targeted group of people.
So if I'm promoting a free report with 101 blog post ideas, I want to target Facebook Fan Pages specifically about blogging, content marketing, and social media. So pages like "Smart Passive Income with Pat Flynn" Darren Rowse of ProBlogger.net Etc... If I had a website about the paleo diet and healthy eating, then I would target related Paleo Fan Pages. But... how do you find these specific, highly-targeted fan pages. Luckily, Facebook has given us a free tool for finding the perfect fan pages. And it's called "Audience Insights". Go to the Ads Manager ==> Left-Hand Side "Audience Insights" Also go to "Liked by this Page" And look at WHO you are subscribed to in your inbox. The next BIG key to creating a high-converting ad is your image. We want images that stand out in the news feed. 4. Create an eye-catching image for your ad. * Show examples from swipe file. Size: 1200 x 628 Tools for Creating Your Own Images: Canva PicMonkey We're going to create our image in Canva. Where to find image ideas. * Search.Twitter.com * Pinterest.com * Google Images
What I often like to do is start with a general idea. Or one main image that's going to be in the ad. So with the "writer" ad for example, I would start by finding the right image. To do that I use 123rf.com. (Which has very affordable, high-quality images) Find image. Pull into Pixlr. Add sides to the image to make it wider. Then pull into Canva. Add Message Bubble and Text. Font: Sunday Save. Then go to create Facebook Ad. * Check Text with Facebook Grid Tool. 5. Setting up Facebook Ad (Step-by-Step) Start in the traditional Ad Manager. First, you'll need to choose the objective for your campaign. I'm going to select "Send people to your website." Select a URL. And a conversion tracking pixel. *** Ad Copy Headline: 101 Blog Post Ideas Text (Which Appears Above the Image): Writer's block? Download 101 Blog Post Ideas. (Keep these in your swipe file.) 5 Call to Action Button: Learn More 6. Create the Perfect Landing Page Create Landing Page inside of LeadPages. Then pull into your blog so it's hosted on YOUR url. 7. Create Thank-You Page (with Conversion Tracking) Create Thank-You Page inside of LeadPages. Setup Conversion Tracking inside Facebook 8. Advanced Options Inside the Power Editor. * Add additional conversion tracking pixels. * Customize "Display URL" * Or Duplicate an Entire Campaign. (This makes it a LOT faster to setup multiple ads and start split-testing different targeting, images, etc...) * Split-Test Pages * Split-Test Mobile News Feed Vs. Desktop News Feed 9. Steps for Optimizing Your Ad. Test different fan pages. Test different images. Test CPC vs. ocpm (Optimized CPM) Test 2-4 Different Landing Pages Test Mobile News Feed Vs. the Desktop News Feed Test Targeting Women Vs. Men 10. Retargeting. * You can upload your subscriber list into Facebook. * You can create a custom "website audience" pixel. Allowing you to target people who have visited your website in the past 30 days. * If you want to get into some more advanced retargeting, I recommend using AdRoll.
11. Facebook Hybrid Ads (Will be covered in followup video) 12. The Do's and Dont's of Facebook Ads. Do... * Include legal information at the bottom of your page.
