www.ue.wroclaw.pl About the University Wrocław University of Economics is a state university founded in 1947, it has over a 60 years history and a tradition of high quality education. Today, the Wroclaw University of Economics is ranked among the top economic schools of higher education in Poland, an important center of education, science and research. Its activities are aimed at maintaining and strengthening the position of the University on regional, national, European and international levels. Altogether it employs 655 academic teachers including 126 professors. There is strong interest in economic studies, in the academic year 2012/2013 the University has about 15,000 students. There are four faculties at Wrocław University of Economics: l Faculty of National Economy, l Faculty of Management, Information System and Finance l Faculty of Engineering and Economics, l Faculty of Economics and Tourism Management (located in Jelenia Góra). The students can choose from 40 specializations within the range of courses offered by the faculties. Education. The educational system at WUE follows the requirements of the Bologna declaration. We apply the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and issue Diploma Supplements. The exchange of academic staff and students is carried out under the Erasmus and Leonardo da Vinci programmes. In the academic year 2012/2013 there are more than 100 courses offered in foreign languages to Erasmus students. The University is authorized to run an Executive MBA Program for graduates, and is available in a Polish or language version, and is organized in conjunction with universities from Belgium, France, Ireland, Germany and Great Britain. Curricula realized in the University include foundation subjects, general and specialist subjects and ensure full complementarily with other European universities curricula, which enables our students to participate in academic exchange and to study abroad as a part of their course. Foreign graduates are accepted here to complete their bachelor, master and doctoral degrees. The University offers free Polish language courses for the exchange students. The courses are provided during each semester and have two levels for the student to choose: beginners and intermediate. Master in Business Administration Master 2 academic years (4 semesters) The proposed program is directed at the candidates interested in management. Program consists of compulsory and elective courses. Among the elective courses there are the courses containing the material necessary to build own educational road. The Master in Management (BA) equips students with the skills most desired by graduate employers and the fundamental business knowledge to increase their opportunities and guide them to success in whatever career they choose. The Master in Management is a part-time program that runs from October 2011. The structure and curriculum are designed for students with little or no work experience. This 20-unit course is designed for those wishing to undertake graduate studies in general business management/business administration by flexible delivery. The course has a particular emphasis on the development of skills and competencies necessary to manage effectively in both local and global environments. Total number of hours taught: 545 classroom hours, which is 120 credits according to European standards. Students will study business theory and how to apply it using functional and reliable tools. Master in International Business The Master in International Business Programme has been designed for students wanting to broaden their knowledge and strengthen their leadership and managerial abilities. Master Studies in Finance Master 2 academic years (4 semesters) Program Master Studies in Finance fulfils Master requirements of European Union. It is taught in and based on world standards in finance programs. The proposed program is directed at the students of Finance major. MBA Executive Study Program in Management Master 2 academic years (4 semesters) The four-semester, part-time Executive MBA Programme first commenced in 1993 offering executive management general training to mid- and senior-level managers of Polish and foreign organizations and companies operating mainly in Southwest Poland. We give you an opportunity to prepare your doctoral dissertation in six semesters. - The whole program lasts for 6 semesters (3 years, 240 hours). - During the first four semesters, students have one one-week (5 days x 10 hours per day = 50 hours) meeting in every semester, that gives 200 hours in total. - At the end of the second semester (after finishing the required courses), students submit pre-dissertation work, which is evaluated by three members of Doctoral Program Committee.
