ABOUT OUR GUEST SPEAKER: Dr. John Piper Dr. Piper is the founder and Chancellor of Bethlehem College & Seminary and was the senior pastor at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Minneapolis, Minnesota for thirty-three years. Dr. Piper received an undergraduate degree in literature (with a minor in philosophy) from Wheaton College, obtained a Bachelor of Divinity degree at Fuller Theological Seminary, and then completed doctoral work in New Testament Studies at the University of Munich. He is a prolific author with fifty books and has an expansive website (desiringgod.org) rich with commentary, sermons and other resources. But his life s work, in his own words, is the ministry of preaching. websites: desiringgod.org bethlehemcollegeandseminary.org twitter: @JohnPiper WELCOME TO THINK 14 Thank you for choosing to spend time with us this weekend. We have been praying and planning for this for a long time. Our THINK weekends come early in the year to remind us that theology is for everyone who desires to follow Jesus and is the foundation of all we do here as a church. We want to know Him. This is our sixth THINK event, and we have seen God bless each of them. We have a gifted man of God to proclaim God s Word; we have great books at great prices for everyone in the family; we have kidthink (Friday evening) for our next generation because theology is for everyone, and we have great fellowship with God s people. God has been very kind to us in giving us Dr. John Piper as His spokesman to minister the Word to us. Many of us have been greatly influenced by the ministry of Dr. Piper, and it is a true blessing from God that we as a family can share in God s Word through this faithful servant. We are excited and glad you re here! We pray God s favor on this special weekend that comes from God s gracious hand. Soli Deo Gloria (to God alone be the glory), Joe Bartemus Pastor of Theological Development
