In this lab you will learn how to login to the TotalAgility Designer and navigate around it. You will also learn how to set common Server Settings, create a simple capture workflow business process, save, release, lock, unlock a process, and how to categorize the process. Lab 03-1 Login to the Designer Azure Cloud Based As part of the agreement with Kofax, a new instance of TotalAgility is created. An email is sent to you detailing your login credentials to both the TotalAgility Designer and Workspace. We will look at the Workspace in later labs. 1. From your email, click the link to the TotalAgility Designer. On Premise/Training Image During the install of Kofax TotalAgility a Windows user account and password is specified. 1. Open Internet Explorer. 2. To access the Designer enter http://servername/totalagility/designer/default.htm 3. To access the TotalAgility Workspace enter http://servername/totalagility/forms/custom/logon.html 4. Enter your username and password (this will not be needed if the system is using Windows Authentication). You should be presented with the Home Page with a list of available Modules. Restart the TotalAgility Core Worker Service 21. From the Start Menu click Control Panel. Click Administrative Tools and click Services. 22. Locate the Kofax TotalAgility Core Worker Service, right-click and select Stop. 23. Once the progress bar has finished; right-click and select Start. Restart the TotalAgility IIS Application Pool 24. From the Start Menu click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. 25. Expand the Machine name and select Application Pools. Locate the TotalAgilityAppPool, right-click and select Stop. 26. 31. Locate the Properties area and set the Name property of the process to Capture Applications. 32. From the Properties area, click the Extended Properties icon. Extended Properties icon Add Ordinary Activities In this part of the lab, you will add ordinary activities to the Capture Applications process. 33. Click the Start node to display the Satellite nodes. 34. Click the Activity Node to add Activity 1. Hold and drag Activity 1 to reposition. 35. Add an End Point In this part of the lab, you will add an end point. 37. Select the Verification node and from the Satellite nodes click the End Point node. Note: The completed process should look like this: Rearrange Process In this part you will learn how to automatically arrange the process. 38. In the Actions toolbar click the Rearrange icon. Notes: (i) This option only works if you have Pools (general property of the process) turned off. (ii) Pools are part of the BPMN standard, and are not covered on this course. Save the Process In this part of the lab, you will save the process. 39. Click the Save command on the Actions Bar. 40. Click Ok. 41. The process is Saved with a version number of 0.01. Release the Process In this part of the lab, you will release the process. 42. Click the Release command on the Actions Bar. 43. Click Ok. 44. The process is Release with a version number of 1.0. Lab 03-4 Locking/Unlocking Processes In this part of the lab, you will lock and unlock the process. 1. Close the Capture Applications process. 2. In the Process Designer staging page in the Explorer pane click Processes. 3. Click Process. Notice the process is Locked. When you initially created the process, the process was locked under your user account. 4. Click the icon to the left of Capture Applications. 5. Select Unlock and click Yes to unlock the process. 6. Click the Capture Applications process. 7. Select Ok to Lock the process for modification (Cancel will open the process as read-only). Search the Explorer In this part of the lab, you will learn how to search the Explorer. 8. Close the Capture Applications process to return to the Staging view for the Process Designer. 9. In this lab you will create a category. Categories can be used as a filing system for the various TotalAgility objects you create. You can restrict access to categories using permissions. Lab 03-5 Categories Create a New Category In this part of the lab, you will create a new category. 1. Click the System Modeling link on the Modeling toolbar to access the System Settings module. Modeling link Note: You can also access the System Settings module by selecting the Home (Kofax logo) icon at the bottom left corner of the screen, and then click System Settings. 2. Click Categories to Manage the Categories. 3. Enter Applications as the category name. 4. Click Save. Hint: in the top left corner. 5. Click Categories in the Explorer to view the new category. Note: You can also create a subcategory by specifying a Parent Category (see above screenshot). 6. Close the System Settings module (the Capture Applications process should be active). Assign a Process to a Category You will now practice how to assign your process to the new category. 7. Ensure the Capture Applications process is active. Note: If the process is not active, you can click the Active Items icon in the Actions bar. 8. In the Properties area, click the Extended Properties icon. The General Settings for the Capture Applications process are displayed. 9. Click the Category consume icon. 10. From the explorer, drag the Applications category to the Category consume area. 11. Close the extended properties. 12. Release and close the Capture Applications process. 13. Select Processes in the Explorer, and select All. 14. Select the Applications category and ensure the process is visible (if the category is not visible you may have to close the Process Designer module and re-open it). 15. Lab 03-6 Import Distribution Process Importing Distribution Process Before we move to the next lab, you will import a Distribution process. This process is used to bring in Categories, Resources and other items that will be used throughout this course. 1. Click the Back button in the Actions Bar to go back to the Process Staging area. 2. In the Process Staging area click Import Processes. 3. Click the Browse link (top right corner) and navigate to: C:\KTAEssentials\LabFiles\LabSetup\Processes\. 4. Select Distribution Process.zip and click Open. 5. Leave all defaults and click Ok. The process will be imported. Click Cancel when prompted to Lock for Modification. 6.
