The International Business Program The School of International Business offers an entirely unique and advanced type of degree program which, after four intensive calendar years of study and work, leads to the simultaneous award of a bachelor s degree in Business Administration from Reutlingen University and a highly accredited Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from one of Reutlingen s international partner universities. This fast-track program was first made possible in 1997 through direct financing from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Technology. A highly select group of universities was chosen from hundreds of applicant institutions with the goal to revolutionize university education in today s increasingly complex and globally competitive environment. Reutlingen University is the only institution which has been awarded a federal grant to offer a combined undergraduate and graduate business program attractive to both German and international student applicants. Educating Business Leaders All courses in the IB program are conducted in small seminar-like groups, and student participation in class is actively encouraged. Business courses are taught almost exclusively by professors, who have significant management experience in business, from the perspective of an internationally operating enterprise. During two six-month internships, students acquire reallife work experience upon which they can build a long-term career. All IB students have to complete at least one internship outside of their home country, and many seize the opportunity to gather international experience in different countries around the globe in both internships. The final year of the program is spent in a highly-ranked graduate business school at one of our renowned partner universities in Australia, China, England, Germany, Mexico, or the USA. Since 1971, our school has been teaching international business and has earned an excellent reputation in Germany and throughout Europe. Graduates of the International Business program are in strong demand from international enterprises who offer them outstanding career opportunities. -4- School of International Business Reutlingen University

IB Dual Degree Structure Every year 40 students are admitted, with a one to one ratio of international and German nationalities. The first three years build the Reutlingen University undergraduate experience. International students complete their first internship in Germany to improve language and cultural skills, as well as to develop an awareness and understanding of German economics. German students complete at least one internship abroad. Most often, both internships are international experiences for international and German students alike. During the third year, with a German grade average better than 2.5 and acceptable scores in the TOEFL and GMAT entrance examinations, students apply to attend the graduate business school at one of our many high-quality partner universities. -6- School of International Business Reutlingen University

Applying to the IB Program Last year, a class of 40 outstanding individuals was selected from a pool of more than 700 applicants. The admissions committee looks at more than grade point averages and TOEFL scores. Certainly a key requirement of acceptance to the IB program is a sincere desire for pursuing an international business education. Interest in foreign languages and in international experience, however, are not our only requirements. We look at the background of the whole person applying to our program. In addition to personal interests and educational accomplishments, we consider applicants working experience and extracurricular activities which indicate leadership as well as abilities to integrate in and contribute to a multicultural community.
