editor s letter For over thirty years, Devon Clothing has been designing, manufacturing and supplying uniforms directly to hundreds of schools around Australia. Its new technology has the characteristics of drawing the moisture away from the body. COTTON BACKED POLYESTER A layered material that has a cotton layer against the skin taking advantage of the breathability. TOP TIE TIPS Nothing strikes fear in the heart of even the most confident students than the thought of tying that first tie. It only takes a little patience to master the world s most common knot THE FOUR-IN-HAND ideal for most ties and almost all types of collar. 7 Shirts Many other options and designs available including Jack shirt range and Peter Pan collars. Check out our comprehensive Unisex range. Four-in-hand Half Windsor Full Windsor HOW TO SIZE A SHIRT CHEST: the best option is to measure an existing shirt that fits well. Lay it down on a flat surface and measure from seam to seam 2.5 3cm under the armpits. (See diagram). NECK: measure around the base of the neck allow approx 1 cm between the neck and the tape measure. For formal shirts, again use a well-fitting shirt and measure from the centre of the collar button around to the far end of the button hole. Just remember... Make the knot sit tight against the collar there shouldn t be agap. The widest part of the tie sits level with the waistband. LENGTH: measure from highest shoulder point to bottom of hem. SLEEVE: put the arm to the side, relax and bend the elbow slightly. Measure from the tip of the shoulder to the wrist.

Read carefully and always refer to the label prior to washing, dry cleaning or drying the instructions will differ depending on the makeup of the fabric, featured buttons, zips, etc. For example, some garments should not be tumble-dried... others should not be ironed with a hot iron or dry cleaned. 19 Sportswear SUBLIMATION is an amazing printing process used on a variety of surfaces. A small heater is used to vaporize the solid dye material, which then solidifies. As this type of printer allows extremely fine control of the primary colour ratios it is possible to obtain a good quality picture, image or text onto synthetic fabrics. Unlike screen printing, the sublimation technique results in an entirely smooth surface the dyes actually become part of the material on which they are being applied.
