Employment Statistics School of Engineering & Applied Science Undergraduate The career outcomes rate of Hofstra s 2013-2014 job seeking Engineering & Applied Science undergraduates is 100 1. Career Outcomes Rate * 100 Employment Rate 100 Graduate School Rate 0 Employment + Graduate School Rate 0 *Career Outcomes Rate = (employed + graduate school) / (total survey respondents + other reliable data sources not job seeking) 100 of Engineering & Applied Science undergraduate respondents reported being employed and 59 accepted their position before graduation. Another 41 reported that they were employed within six months after graduation. Among those who reported salary (57), a self-reported figure volunteered by the undergraduate respondent, the median annual salary for these undergraduate alumni was $55,000, the mean was $58,994, and the middle 50 range was $50,000-$65,000. Of the 37 Engineering & Applied Science undergraduate students who graduated between August 2013 and May 2014, data was collected via a survey from 23 students for a 62 response rate. Data was gathered another 7 students from other sources (LinkedIn and faculty input) resulting in knowledge about the outcomes for 81 of the graduates. The data collection period for the 2013-2014 Hofstra graduates was between December 2013 and May 2015. This report uses the best practices recommended by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) First Destination Survey Standards in January 2014. Many of the tables have been created from different sources, therefore the base size used to calculate percentages is varied. The source for each table is noted throughout. See the notes for further clarification on the methodology. 1 Includes those employed (full-time or part-time) and not employed but are attending graduate school (full-time or parttime) next semester. 1

NOTES Due to the number of resources used to gather outcomes data, many of the tables have been created from different sources, therefore the base size used to calculate percentages is varied. The source for each table is noted throughout. This report is largely based on the responses of graduates completing Hofstra surveys, not the total number of graduates, and may not be representative of the total graduating population. LinkedIn was used to track employment information on survey nonrespondents and National Student Clearinghouse and Hofstra enrollment files were used to track graduate school enrollment for all of our students. Faculty also provided input on student outcomes. This report uses the best practices recommended by NACE in January 2014. In accordance with those practices, this report uses multiple data sources to understand our graduates outcomes. The sample sizes are detailed in the table below. Some tables may not sum to 100 due to rounding.
