Please indicate NA if not applicable: Total Students interested in the APU PsyD Counseling Program are expected to have a master's degree in psychology or closely related discipline that includes the following courses: Human Growth and Lifespan Development; Social or Cultural Bases of Behavior OR Diversity Training for Helping Professionals; Helping Relationships OR Counseling Skills and Techniques; Counseling Theory OR Personality Theory; Abnormal Psychology OR Psychopathology; Research Methods; Psychological Assessment, Psychological Appraisal, OR Tests and Measurement; and Counseling Practicum. Credit is not awarded for master's level coursework, as such coursework is expected for all entering students. If students are able to demonstrate having completed coursework that is substantially equivalent to the required doctoral coursework, a maximum of 30% of the total required credits can be transferred and count towards an APU degree. The Counseling Psychology PsyD program requires the completion of 90 credits; of these, a maximum of 24 credits can be transferred in from elsewhere.
