1 Employment Statistics Zarb School of Business Graduate
2 Employment Statistics Zarb School of Business Graduate The career outcomes rate of Hofstra s job seeking Zarb graduates is Career Outcomes Rate * 83 Employment Rate 82 Graduate School Rate 5 Employment + Graduate School Rate 3 *Career Outcomes Rate = (employed + graduate school) / (total survey respondents + other reliable data sources not job seeking) 82 of Zarb graduate respondents reported being employed and 70 accepted their position before graduation. Another 28 reported that they were employed within six months after graduation. Among those who reported salary (60), a self-reported figure volunteered by the graduate respondent, the median annual salary for these graduate alumni was $57,000, the mean was $71,625, and the middle 50 range was $45,000-$78, of these graduate respondents have reported that they are attending another institution or applied for an advanced degree within the next semester of graduation. Of the 515 Zarb graduate students who graduated between August 2013 and May 2014, data was collected via a survey from 401 students for a 78 response rate. Data was gathered on another 28 students from other sources (LinkedIn and faculty input) resulting in knowledge about the outcomes for 83 of the graduates. The data collection period for the Hofstra graduates was between December 2013 and May This report uses the best practices recommended by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) First Destination Survey Standards in January Many of the tables have been created from different sources, therefore the base size used to calculate percentages is varied. The source for each table is noted throughout. See the notes for further clarification on the methodology. 1 Includes those employed (full-time or part-time) and not employed but are attending graduate school (full-time or parttime) next semester. 1

8 NOTES Due to the number of resources used to gather outcomes data, many of the tables have been created from different sources, therefore the base size used to calculate percentages is varied. The source for each table is noted throughout. This report is largely based on the responses of graduates completing Hofstra surveys, not the total number of graduates, and may not be representative of the total graduating population. LinkedIn was used to track employment information on survey nonrespondents and National Student Clearinghouse and Hofstra enrollment files were used to track graduate school enrollment for all of our students. Faculty also provided input on student outcomes. This report uses the best practices recommended by NACE in January In accordance with those practices, this report uses multiple data sources to understand our graduates outcomes. The sample sizes are detailed in the table below. Some tables may not sum to 100 due to rounding.
