Faculty will compare the student's syllabi with current program syllabi and also consider the students grade when determining exemptions. We will only consider these requests once a student has been officially admitted to the program, we will not review syllabi of applicants. University policy prohibits the transfer of any credits that have already been applied to another degree.

Additionally, some students receive graduate assistantships through other departments. Historically, we have been able to provide some funding to all students for some or all of the time they are in the program. Assistantships for 20-hours per week include tuition remission for 9 credits in Fall or Spring and 6 credits in Summer, as well as benefits; fees and any additional tuition will be the responsibility of the student. Similarly, Merit and Diversity cover 9 credits of tuition.
