Logging into Rackspace Webmail Webmail can be accessed from anywhere in the world via an internet connection, and is supported in the following browsers: Windows Internet Explorer 7+, Firefox 3.6+, Google Chrome Mac OSX Safari 4+, Firefox 3.6+, Google Chrome. To log into Rackspace Webmail, perform the following steps: Visit https://apps.rackspace.com. In the Choose an Account dropdown field, ensure Email Account is selected. In the Email Address field, enter your complete email address (e.g. fred.bloggs@eel.co.uk). In the Password field, enter your password. If you want your browser to remember your login information, check the Remember this info box. Note: If you are using a public computer or if others use your computer, you should not check the box. 1 Rackspace Webmail
To ensure that your login information and webmail session are secure, check the Use SSL (Secure) box. To view webmail without your browser's toolbar, check the Hide browser toolbars box. Click the Log In button. 2. Add/Change your Signature A disclaimer is automatically added to the end of all email you send, that leaves your domain (e.g. from an electric-centre.co.uk address to an eel.co.uk address or to a supplier). For UK users the disclaimer is: For company registration details and disclaimer, see: http://www.edmundsonelectrical.co.uk/disclaimer For Irish users the disclaimer is: For company registration details and disclaimer, see: http://www.ewl.ie/disclaimer If you require a personalised signature (in addition to the disclaimer), proceed as follows: Once logged into Rackspace Webmail, click Settings in the top right of the screen, then select Composing Email from the window that appears. 2 Rackspace Webmail
Select the Signatures tab and then click Add New Signature. Give your new signature a name, and enter your preferred details, then click OK. Ensure that Always show signature when composing an email option is ticked as shown: 3 Rackspace Webmail
Next, click on the Identities tab, select your account and click Edit. Enter your name and reply email address then select your new signature from the drop down menu, then click OK, then Save to finish. When composing a new email your signature should now appear by default. 4 Rackspace Webmail
3. Configure audible notifications The webmail system can automatically check for new mail and generate an audible notification of new mail. To switch this on, go to Settings (top right): Select Play alert sound, choose your preferred frequency and click Save : 5 Rackspace Webmail
4. Manage Auto-Reply ( Out of Office /Vacation responder) Use the auto-reply feature to send responses automatically to any person who emails you. Each sender will receive the reply message only once. Note: Your email is forwarded to your own mail server, rather than being stored at Rackspace, you will need to make your own Out of Office arrangements; the Rackspace Webmail facility will not work for you. 1. 3. Click the Auto-Reply tab. 4. Turn the auto-reply feature on or off, as desired. 5. With the status set to On, you can adjust the outgoing auto-reply message, as desired. 6. To enable the auto-reply message only during a specific time frame, select the Enable only during the following time frame check box, and then select a start and end time. 7. Click the Save button. 5. Dealing with spam Rackspace automatically detects spam and prevents the vast majority of it from arriving in your inbox. Borderline spam messages are sent to your spam folder, for you to decide what action to take. Occasionally some spam may make it through to your inbox.
