We are excited that you have made TCC your college of choice! Please note that all new, degree-seeking students to TCC are required to attend a Transfer Student Orientation session. Beginning April 20, if you follow the instructions enclosed, you will be able to reserve your orientation session. As a reminder, orientation is a required step of the admission process. Before attending your new student orientation, please note the following: 1. VALID PHOTO IDENTIFICATION REQUIRED FOR ADMITTANCE TO PROGRAM: Photo identification is required for new student orientation attendees. Please bring your photo I.D. to check-in. Without your photo I.D., you will unable to attend your scheduled new student orientation session. Examples of valid photo I.D. include: military I.D. card, high school or college I.D. card, driver license, or a state-issued I.D. card. 2. OFFICIAL HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS/GED SCORES: Please have an official copy of your high school transcript (with graduation date posted) or official, sealed GED scores sent to the Admissions and Enrollment Services office. TCC requests that you have your high school transcripts/ged scores sent electronically or via U.S. mail from the institution(s) directly to TCC. 3. OFFICIAL COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY TRANSCRIPTS: Make sure that all college transcripts (showing completed college course work) have been submitted to the TCC Admissions and Enrollment Services Office. This also includes AP (Advanced Placement), IB (International Baccalaureate) transcripts. TCC requests that you have these transcripts sent electronically or via U.S. mail from the institution(s) directly to TCC. Transcripts issued to students will not be accepted. Additionally, we recommend that students bring unofficial copies of their college transcripts to orientation. Unofficial copies will be used for advising purposes only. The earlier you send your official transcripts, the sooner we can complete your admission file. 4. TESTING (IF APPLICABLE): If your college/university transcripts do not reflect that you have successfully completed a college-level English course and college-level Math course, you will be required to have valid placement test scores on record. ACT, SAT, FPERT or Accuplacer CPT scores may be used for placement purposes provided the test was taken within the last two years. If you are using ACT, SAT or Accuplacer CPT scores, make sure the scores are forwarded to the TCC Testing Center prior to your attend your new student orientation session. You should also plan to bring a copy of your test scores to orientation. To view information on test
scores and placement, please visit the TCC Testing Center website: www.tcc.fl.edu/testingcenter. If you need to take the placement test, we recommend that you review the study guide and practice test located in the placement test resources area on our Testing Center web page at www.tcc.fl.edu/testingcenter. 5. Developmental Education: due to recent changes in state legislation (section 1008.30, Florida Statutes) that went into effect January 2014, you may be exempt from placement testing and taking developmental education courses.
