Registering in Moodle Dalhousie School of Nursing students (Please note that Internet Explorer does not work with our Moodle. Please use Firefox or Chrome.) Moodle is accessible at: https://moodle.usainteanne.ca/?lang=en Or directly from Sainte-Anne s website at www.usainteanne.ca: 1. by clicking the Moodle link in the bottom left hand corner; or 2. by clicking the English link in the top right hand corner, then clicking Student Resources, and finally clicking the Moodle link in the Services section. It is not necessary to have a Sainte-Anne email account in order to access your online course. You can create a Moodle account with your Dalhousie email address or any other email address. You can even use your Google or Facebook accounts. Please note that if you already have an active Sainte-Anne email account, then you should log in with that account in order to keep all your content available. If you have an old account that is not currently being used, then you may create a new one. Creating a Moodle account: If you already have a Moodle account, skip this section, and see Accessing your online course (below). If the page appears in French, change it to English. Then click Create new account. (For those of you that wish to use your Google or Facebook account, click Log in. On the Login page you will be able to click sign in with Google or sign in with Facebook. ) This section is only for users that will create a new account. 1
In the Create new account window, fill in the required fields. Enter the (recaptcha) and click on Create my new account. 2
After your Moodle account has been created, an email will be sent to you confirming your account. Click Continue. Log into your email, and find and open the email that has been sent to you. Click on the confirmation link in the email to confirm your Moodle account. 3
Once you click on the link, you will be redirected to Moodle. Congratulations! You have successfully created your Moodle account! Next, you will need to enroll in your Moodle course. Accessing your online course Let s find your course! Please note: If your professor has emailed you a direct link to the course, then please click on it. If you are not already logged-in, it will open the login page and you can type your username and password. A second page will appear where you can type the course key to enroll in the Moodle course. If the professor has not sent you the direct link, then you can do the following: Click Click here to see the list of all available courses. You can also click Online Courses. It will bring you to the same page. 4
Scroll down to find Search courses. Enter a course code in the block (example: BIOL 2916) and click Go. Note: If you do not know the course code, you can find your course in the category Universitaire and then the sub-categories Sciences or Sciences humaines. Please note that sometimes the course will be on a second page. You can also ask your professor for the course code. 5
The matching results will appear. Click on the course title. If you are not already logged in, enter your username and password, and then click on Log in. 6
Your professor will provide you with the enrolment key to the course. Note: Please type the key code in the Enrolment key field. Copy and paste does not always work. This key code is only entered once (you will not need to enter it every time you access the course page). Click Enrol Me. You will now see the main page of the course. Once you are finished working with Moodle, please log out. Click the arrow that appears beside your username and click Log Out. 7
The next time you want to access your course, you will only need to enter your username and password in the login box and then click on the Log in button. The list of courses in which you are enrolled will appear. Keep in mind that you must enroll in each course before it will appear in your personal course list. 8
