Graduate School The health care industry continues to change and diversify. Administrators in all sectors of health care are needed to improve both quality and efficiency of services. A master s degree is the standard credential for employees seeking advancement to become program heads. This degree program prepares current or aspiring administrators of small and large facilities to sharpen their management skills in leadership, finance, decision making and research. Learn how to manage the interactions between administration and medicine amidst various institutional cultures. There are three advanced certificate programs for students who want to specialize in one specific area of health administration. A certificate program can be completed in as little as 3 semesters (5-6 classes). The program develops decisionmaking skills, critical thinking and communications. This degree has a strong foundation in epidemiology, health systems organization and management, human resources and financial management, health care economics, and legal and ethical issues in health care organizations. As you earn your master s degree, you ll have the opportunity to complete a field-based practicum with the support and expert guidance of D Youville s dedicated faculty. You also have the option to enroll in one of our advanced certificate programs, allowing you to specialize in either health services administration, long-term care administration or as a clinical research associate. You can earn the certificate alone, or in conjunction with the full master s program. D Youville has a long tradition of education in health services. Financial Aid & Scholarships financialaid@dyc.edu 800.777.3921 At D Youville College, we understand that financing a graduate education can be difficult. That s why we have various forms of financial aid available for all students, such as scholarships, grants and loans. New entering graduate students are automatically reviewed for award eligibility, though a minimum G.P.A. of 3.25 or higher is required. Continuing graduate students can apply for a merit scholarship directly with the academic department. Canadian Student Discount We currently award a 20% net tuition discount to Canadian students. This discount applies to tuition only. Ontario residents may also be eligible to apply for OSAP funding. Our financial aid office will complete the required paperwork, however Ontario does not confirm award eligibility prior to enrollment. health services administration M.S. Application Process Admission to the HSA master s degree program is based on the qualifications of each individual student. A cummulative GPA of 3.0 (equivalent to a B) or better is the minimum requirement for acceptance into the program. Students with a lower GPA may be considered for provisional acceptance into the program based upon personal and professional qualifications. In addition to the general admission requirements, applicants must present the following: Completion of a baccalaureate degree. Two years full-time employment experience in a health-related facility if baccalaureate degree is not in a health-related or business-related area. Two letters of recommendation 250 word statement of purpose Additional program requirements Successful completion of an applied statistical analysis course (4 credit undergraduate course) Preference will be given to students who have experience in health care management
