Net2 Anywhere - Installation What is Net2 Anywhere? Net2 Anywhere is a range of services that use the internet to provide additional features for your Net2 access control system. Our secure web server and interface software allow a Net2 operator to monitor and administer a Net2 system from any computer with internet access. Net2 sites throughout the world can be viewed for central administration. There are also many iphone applications available for operators to perform active functions: Roll Call, Timesheet, Open Door, Reports and Users. (Net2 Anywhere is currently not compatible with Android based devices) How do I configure Net2 Anywhere? Net2 Anywhere uses a secure server administered by Paxton as the central hub of the service. Here are the stages required to configure Net2 Anywhere for your Net2 system. 1) Enable Net2 Anywhere feature from the Net2 Configuration Utility. 2) Create / modify a user to have System Engineer privileges. 3) Register your Net2 system with the Net2 Anywhere secure server. 4) Upgrade the user to have Net2 Anywhere privileges. 5) Log this operator into your system via Net2 Anywhere. 6) Select and run the required Net2 Anywhere functions. Enable Net2 Anywhere on your Net2 system Net2 Anywhere requires Net2 Pro software of v4.23 or later. Open the Net2 Server Configuration Utility and select the Features tab. Put a tick in the Net2 Anywhere box. Click Apply and then close the program. 1
Register your Net2 system with the Net2 Anywhere secure server Net2 Running the Net2 software will now display a welcome screen. You should now create/upgrade a Net2 user(s) to also have system access via Net2 Anywhere. The first user will also need to have Net2 Operator status with System Engineer permissions. Create a Net2 Anywhere operator with System Engineer privileges A Net2 Anywhere user will access their Net2 system as a Net2 operator. To register the site, the user must have full System Engineer permissions. You can simply upgrade an existing operator. Log in as a System Engineer and double click on the operator name. You will then run the operator wizard which allows you to select the required Net2 Anywhere options. You can also create a new user (e.g. Online Supervisor), run the 'New operator' wizard and enable the required Net2 Anywhere options. The first time the operator logs on to Net2, a registration screen will display. Press the button to start the process. 2
The group name is the reference that the Net2 Anywhere server will use to load your company information. To maximise security, it is advisable to create a name that is not just a simple company name. (e.g. paxton99) The password is only used to administer the Net2 Anywhere server information. A Net2 Anywhere user will log in using the name and password from their own Net2 system. Following the registration of your system with Net2 Anywhere, a reminder will be placed on your Net2 main screen and an email will be sent to the registered address as confirmation. You must now set up the permissions for Net2 Anywhere access. 3
Log in via Net2 Anywhere Net2 Once you have registered your Net2 system, Net2 operator(s) with Net2 Anywhere privileges can use a web browser to view your system remotely over the internet. Log in to your Net2 server using Net2 Anywhere at the following URL: < https://www.net2anywhere.com > Enter the group name that you set up during registration. Enter the Net2 operator and password that has been created on the local Net2 system and 'Log in'. They will then have the same permissions as if they were logged on as a local Net2 operator. The refresh rate will depend on the screen being displayed but reports can be paused for analysis. 4

Setting up an iphone application The iphone applications use the same Net2 Anywhere server to gather and update information from the Net2 system. Once you have uploaded and opened the required application from the App Store you will need to run through the same registration process as for internet access. 1) Enable Net2 Anywhere on your Net2 system. 2) Register your Net2 system with the Net2 Anywhere secure server. 3) Create / modify an operator on your Net2 system to allow access. You can now run the iphone application and you will see a log in screen. Enter the organisation (group name), the Net2 operator and password to log in.
