RINA solutions for Ship Energy Governance ENVIRONMENT & SUSTAINABILITY Marine Energy Business Assurance Transport & Infrastructures IFIs, Banks and Investors INNOVATION

COMPANY PROFILE RINA SERVICES S.p.A. is the RINA Group company active in classification, certification, inspection and testing services. RINA is a multi-national Group which offers verification, certification, conformity assessment, marine classification, environmental enhancement, product testing, site and vendor supervision, training and engineering consultancy across a wide range of industries and services. RINA operates through a network of companies covering Marine, Energy, Infrastructures & Construction, Transport & Logistics, Food & Agriculture, Environment & Sustainability, Finance & Public Institutions and Business Governance. With a turnover of over 330 million Euros in 2014, over 2,750 employees, and 163 offices in 60 countries worldwide, RINA is recognized as an authoritative member of key international organizations and an important contributor to the development of new legislative standards. www.rina.org Best Practices Best Practices indicate a Fuel Saving of up to 10% if systematic use of Energy Governance measures is applied. InfoSHIP EGO provides the tools to monitor fuel saving achievements and contributes to global saving. The definition and implementation of an Energy Efficiency Model, with its implications in terms of fuel saving and same time growth of a green attitude, is currently the most significant matter from the standpoint of proper business management and is the main challenge for the marine industry, from ship owners to shipyards, from marine operators to suppliers. The optimization of Power Management through innovation, methodologies, technologies and more effective company processes is the goal to be pursued and it may represent the difference between the success or failure of a business. Always committed to environment protection and compliance with the relevant rules and regulations, RINA has addressed the energy saving and conservation topics by means of a holistic view. This means to move from a partial vision, too often tied to specialist points of view, to a systemic, dynamic and multidisciplinary approach, facing the matter in its essence and from different perspectives. This approach has led to the design of InfoSHIP EGO, a real time performance monitoring system with automatic data acquisition, powerful, reliable and accurate, designed for global management and continuous monitoring of the Energy Cycle on board.

Voyage & Fuel Management Trim Optimization Propulsion Efficiency Energy Management Ashore Decision Support System outcomes of a Full Energy Cycle Governance Ship Efficiency Optimization Optimum Speed / Trim Propulsion efficiency monitoring Fuel Cycle Complete Monitoring InfoSHIP EGO allows the fuel cycle to be monitored and the same systems to be used in a more efficient way. RINA Continuous Engineering Services The application of these solutions and methodologies needs to be continuous in time to reach and maintain their effectiveness. Constant commitment and close attention to the issue through a cyclical approach is required. RINA can provide supervision, continuous support of experts and data analytics services to help maintain the level of attention and thereby ensure a constant saving. RINA InfoSHIP EGO - Energy GOvernance The software has many modules that allow to automatically collect data on board, benchmark the actual performances of the ship against a target, give advices to the Master in order to optimize trim, manage ship reporting and, overall, evaluate every refitting action through easy but yet accurate and reliable historical data analysis. A continue and accurate monitoring of propulsion and generation systems on board, ensures the possibility to manage possible inappropriate behaviors and also to reduce consumptions by using the best possible settings, respecting needed operative conditions. Using InfoSHIP EGO; it is also possible to overview and compare the performances of the whole fleet whenever and wherever wanted, as the real time monitoring hub is available on every kind of device, in order to decide the best financial and conducting strategy. It is important to notice that the operative (displacement and trim) and environmental conditions (wind & sea conditions, also from provisional models) are automatically acquired and taken into account to carry out accurate corrections on data. The different modules are: DC - Data Collector It is the basis of the entire system. It allows data to be automatically acquired from Automation and Navigation systems and/or from other sources, such as additional instrumentation. DC acquires data on the basis of parametric sampling times and, according to previously defined rules, it filters and turns them into validated measures. These measures, duly historicized, are used by all the InfoSHIP EGO Modules. VF - Voyage & Fuel Management Management and Reporting of Voyage and Fuel data, including Fuel (by type), Lube Oil and Fresh Water. Information is manually entered for all the information related to fuel consumption that is not directly acquired by sensors, like bunker delivery notes, remaining on board from manual tanks sounding, and so on. TO - Trim Optimization Management of both static and dynamic Trim data in relation to propulsion and navigation. According to these data TO calculates KPIs for the Optimum Trim definition. Through sample tests (and also using information from model tests or CFD studies) the optimal combination of Trim at sea is determined, in relation to different possible operating speeds and displacements. TO can also provide instructions for correctly setting the Trim, showing in real time the deviation between the current propulsive power and that achievable with optimized Trim. PE - Propulsion Efficiency Monitoring of PE data depending on the condition of hull, machinery and environmental conditions.

Based on the analysis of fuel consumption clearly due to propulsion issues, and by exploring in detail performance related to different components, the PE module supports the identification of problems through a continuous benchmarking between actual data acquired from the sensors and a target accounting for loading and environmental conditions. DSS - Ashore Decision Support Systems Dashboards are used to perform multi-dimensional and dynamic analyses of the data recorded by the system. The user can filter, in real-time, the data and see different kind of graphs, reporting and key performance indicators. In this way, the representation of the data can be general (entire fleet) or focused in detail on a single selected parameter or sub-set of data. In the DSS, alert rules can be established, allowing attention always to be focused where it is most required. These rules may of course evolve on the basis of experience and engineering expertise. InfoSHIP ELB - Electronic Logbook The natural complement of the software suite to handle reporting needs and the large number of Ship Formalities. SR - Ship Reporting & Inspection Thanks to data handled by EGO, ELB allows the Electronic Logbooks to be managed. Among them, the Nautical Journal, the Oil Record Book, the Garbage Record Book and optionally all the reporting implications relating to regulations such as SMS and ISPS. SF - Ship Formalities ELB manages the IMO FAL Form from 1 to 7 and other SHIP Formalities (Maritime Health Declaration, Waste Disposal and Notification for EMSA, Security Report), producing outputs in UN/EDIFACT format, in accordance with the IMO FAL Committee 37/2011. ELB is completely Paperless, as per EU Directive 65/2010 (EPC - Electronic Port Clearance). SOSW - Ship-owner Single Windows The information from the SR and SF Modules is automatically routed to various Private & Public Stakeholder recipients by using the SOSW Module. Everything happens M2M (Machine To Machine) without human intervention. With regard to Ship Formalities, recipients are the PSW (Port Single Window) or NSW (National Single Window), in accordance with EU Directive 65/2010 which has come into force in June 2015. InfoSHIP ELB also allows the automatic transmission to the CSW (Classification Single Window, e.g. for Audit or Survey) or to other bodies (such as Major, Insurance,...).
