This document provides the basic step-by-step process on how to setup Backup Anywhere on your local PC. Please note: This software will not back up your data if your computer is switched off, in hibernation or standby. It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED to follow each step from step 1 to step 32. 1. Download Backup Anywhere agent. Log into UMS2 (with your OBT login details) at http:\\www.obt.com.au Co-ordinators Centre UMS2.0 Login. Enter in your User Name and Password and press Login Please note: Your account needs to be provisioned within UMS2 for access to download the Backup Anywhere agent. To download the Backup Anywhere agent, go to Services Backup Anywhere Windows Client. 2. Select Download. 3. Once you have selected Download the screen below will appear. 10. Once the Application has initialised, select 'Next' to register your account. 11. 12. Create an Encryption Key. Select Next. NOTE: If you lose or forget your encryption key, your data will be IRRETRIEVABLY LOST!! OBT is unable to locate forgotten encryption key. 13. 14. Select Next to get started with the Backup Wizard. 15. Select your data to be backed up by completing the name and description, in relation to what you would like to back up. 18. Once you select 'Finish', the Backup Anywhere software will appear. If you would like to add another task, select 'Backup Wizard'. 19. Once you select 'Backup Wizard', you will be redirected back to the Backup Wizard menu. Select 'Next'. 20. This time, select Let me choose what to backup. Select 'Next'. 21. Let's try backing up 'Backup Anywhere' from the Desktop(NB: choose what folder you would like to back up, or create a new empty folder and name it Backup Anywhere ). Select 'Next'. 22. Follow Step 16 and 17 and select a schedule of when to backup your data. Select 'Backup' and you should have the two Backup schedule listed. 23. Create a test document on Notepad and save into the 'Backup Anywhere' folder and name it 'test data. 24. Go to Backup Software and you will now find the two scheduled tasks you have added. Click on 'Backup', Backup Anywhere folder, and then select Start task. 25. Once the task is finished, all data should now be backed up on that selected task/folder. Delete the 'Test Data that you have just created on Notepad so that you can do a test recovery. 28. Select the data you wish to restore (in this instance it is the 'Backup Anywhere' folder). Select 'Next'. 29. Select the restore options in this case restore latest version in 'Original Location'. Select 'OK'. 30. Your deleted 'Test Data' should be back in the original location. 31. To ensure Backup Anywhere is always running, select on Options and then tick the boxes below: - Automatically run Backup Anywhere when I log on to Windows, - Minimize to notification area when closing window - Minimize to notification area when starting, 32.
