However, the systems used for recording these figures are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the crime data. It should be noted that for these reasons this force's response to your questions should not be used for comparison purposes with any other response you may receive.

Notes for Arrest Data The data in this report was extracted from two source systems. The data for before April 2008 comes from the historical ANITE database. The data for April 2008 onwards comes from the live NSPIS system. The live NSPIS data was extracted on 15th February 2012. In ANITE the Date Of Arrest was set between 01/01/2005 and 31/03/2008. (N.B. This is as far back as the system can accurately go, and therefore data back to January 2000 cannot be provided as originally requested). In ANITE the Reason For Arrest was set to equal any of the following: DAD DIC DLI DRK DSP DVE RT4 RT5 RT6 In NSPIS the 'Latest Front Sheet' filter was used to return the most up to date data and remove duplicates The NSPIS Arrest Date was set between 01/04/2008 00:00:00 and 31/12/2011 23:59:59 In NSPIS the First Arrest Offence was set to equal any of the following: Drunk & Incapable Drunk - Other Drunk and Disorderly Drunk in a Public Place Drunk in Charge of a Child Under 7 Years RTA - Drunk in Charge of Motor Vehicle RTA - Positive Breath Test RTA - Refused Breath Test RTA - S4 Unfit - Drink (N.B. The Most Serious Disposal in NSPIS does not necessarily relate to the First Arrest Offence and could relate to another Arrest Offence on the same Custody Record Number). Please Note: the data from these two source systems are NOT comparable
