1 TRAININGS BASS conducts various types of trainings to ensure that Users are competent to operate the BASS software. If Customers have an internal Operation Manual, BASS will use it as a guideline to conduct the training as this document would govern the customer s operational requirements of the software. BASS has dedicated personnel and an internal system to monitor and update product documentation which comprises of User Manuals, Release Notes, Training Materials, Product Sheets and a Computer- Based Training system. BASSnetTM Fleet Management is a software product where the maintenance system is type-approved by the following class-societies for use with the Survey Arrangement Machinery PMS : BV Bureau Veritas Established in Antwerp, Belgium, 1828 www.bureauveritas.com With regard to project-related documentation, these are maintained in a centralized file server and controlled with valid logins. This is to ensure that only authorized personnel from external parties are able to access the project documentation at any time. Additionally, BASS also provides in-house training such as Super User Training, Train the Trainer, End User Training and IT Administration Training. Customers also have the option to engage BASS Authorized Training Centres where the trainers have been trained and certified by BASS. In addition to the training, BASS will assist customers in preparing a BASS System Handbook or Operation Manual for vessel-based Users. This document would contain steps and instructions on how the crew should use the system as per company policy and procedure. This manual will also serve as Training Material and act as a reference guide to ensure that all crew members at the office and onboard will operate the system in the same manner. BASSnet TRAINING ADMINISTRATION 2 You can register for a course by: Sending an email to training@bassnet.no to block dates or request to book a published date. Sending in a request for customised training specifically tailored to your company s needs. Please follow the format available in the BASSnet training brochure 2014, found on page 3 of this document. Alternatively, you may call BASSnet Training Team at +632 8609903 for assistance with your registration. FURTHER INFORMATION: 1. Registration for a course ends one week prior to the commencement of the course. Registration is on a firstcome, first-served basis. 2. At the end of the training course, a copy of the attendance sheet, filled out by the participants, will be submitted to our Finance department. An invoice will be raised and forwarded to the Customer for payment. 3. Fees are inclusive of course materials, stationery, course certificate and coffee breaks. Fees are exclusive of meals, accommodation and transportation. For training cost inquiries, please contact us at training@bassnet.no. 4. In situations where a course is under-subscribed, we reserve the right to re-schedule or cancel the course. Where a course is re-scheduled, registered participants will have their registration automatically transferred to the new course date. If the new date is inconvenient for a registered participant, your company will be informed of a new training date for your approval. 5. Participants, who have registered and who wish to withdraw from any of the courses, should inform BASS Training in writing at least five working days prior to the commencement of the course. Participants who have confirmed, but do not show up or attend only part of the training, will be charged the full course fees. 6. Course details including venue location will be sent to the participants at least 10 days before the course. 7. All participants will be provided with training materials and handouts or electronic copies. Please note that all materials are copyrighted and protected by law and may not be reproduced without consent. 8. Although details are correct at the time of printing, we reserve the right to make unavoidable changes to the training calendar. 9. BASSnet Projects is built on the latest Microsoft.NET technology - a robust, reliable and future-proof platform. Using BASSnet Projects Projects is designed to help users maintain and ensure that each project is delivered on-time and according to budget. Projects includes key features that allow Superintendents to create standard specifications, send specifications to Yards for quotations, keep a tight control of project costs, view details of all projects for each vessel, conduct yard evaluation and view grading of previously used yards for comparison before selecting the preferred yard. Using BASSnet Operations The system s integration with Fleet Management Systems allows seamless information exchange to enable managers to make better decisions to optimise vessel operations. Reviews & Improvements COURSE CODE: BNRI 14 THE COURSE Defining BASSnet Reviews & Improvements Reviews and Improvements is a software solution designed to help users manage quality standards as defined by the 12 elements of TMSA. It is used to assess your company s best practices and provide evidences by linking them to other modules. This system serves as an evaluation tool to measure the fleet organization s performance and management standards of quality. Users can plan and conduct meetings in the office and onboard the vessels and subsequently track and follow up the actions and improvements that have been planned. The system acts as a fleet performance improvement management tool which focuses on operational efficiency. Using BASSnet Reviews & Improvements Reviews and Improvements consists of 3 elements Reviews and Meetings, Self Assessment/TMSA and Improvement Programs. The system helps users in creating and adhering to a standard format for their reviews and meetings. It also acts as a change management tool. One of the key functionalities of this software is the availability of a monitoring tool used to assess progress and performance of tanker operations against a set of standard key performance indicators for TMSA. It highlights areas that require improvement and accomplishment per stage of element and sub-element. In addition, this tool enables users to calculate their scores in the process of ensuring that their safety and quality systems conform to best practices and requirements. The Improvement Program feature enables users to create action plans for the proposed improvement suggestions given by all sea and shore staff.
