Each Franchised Full Service Dealer is required to staff technicians who have successfully completed authorized DEUTZ service training on the DEUTZ engine models Dealer is authorized to service, as approved in the Service Dealer Application. Training Available To assist the Distributor and Dealer, offers general and specialized service training courses. Distributor and Dealer shall offer designated service organization employees the opportunity to attend authorized DEUTZ service training courses. The Distributor and Dealer shall be responsible for employee compensation while attending training courses, and for related expenses such as travel, living costs and registration fee. provides comprehensive technician service training on all engine and system related Technology. All courses are conducted according to a predetermined curriculum and schedule. Easy-to-read textbooks and manuals are provided to supplement lectures by job-experienced instructors. Lectures on theory and operation are conducted in the classroom for easy reference and better retention. Following the theoretical session of the course, a hands-on work experience is incorporated into all courses to provide the technician with maximum in-depth training. DEUTZ authorized service training courses use PowerPoint presentations, cutaway parts, exploded drawings and films to explain clearly the theory of operation and to provide every technician a firm working knowledge of DEUTZ engine working principles. DEUTZ authorized service training course content has been carefully selected to ensure technicians receive adequate instruction on theory of operation, maintenance, repair, overhaul and troubleshooting. Procedures specific to each engine model are explained in theory, followed by training in the workshop on actual components with demonstrations of proper assembly procedures. Course Overview Five Day Courses begin at 8:00 am Monday and end by 4:30 pm Friday. This allows students to travel on Sunday and return any time after 7:00 pm on Friday. Four Day Courses begin at 8:00 am Tuesday and end by 4:30 pm Friday. This allows students to travel on Monday and return any time after 7:00 pm on Friday. Classroom theory, practical workshop instruction and troubleshooting on live engines are covered.
Effective December 2006 Page 2/5 The registration fee includes lunch and all training material. Fees are shown on the current registration form available on the website. A check or purchase order (see method of payment) for the registration fee must accompany the registration form. All other expenses are the student's responsibility. Participants are encouraged to register not less than six (6) weeks prior to the scheduled course to allow time to process the registration and confirm sufficient attendance. Four (4) weeks before the scheduled course, DEUTZ Corporation will send Course Confirmation Letters to all registered students. Technician Training Certification Technician Certification Numbers are issued to each individual successfully completing a 5-day or 4-day DEUTZ accredited Training Course. One Technician Certification Number is issued to each individual. Additional training on other DEUTZ engine models will be recorded to the same Technician Certification Number. At the end of each Training Course testing is done to evaluate course content and to ensure adequate retention of material. A minimum score of seventy (70) percent is required to receive certification. Distributors and Dealers are required to include Technician Certification Numbers on all DEUTZ warranty claims submitted. Individuals that successfully complete an authorized DEUTZ Training Course conducted by a DEUTZ Distributor Instructor certified by s TRAIN THE TRAINER course are issued a Technician Certification Number. DEUTZ Course Confirmations will be issued four (4) weeks prior to the scheduled course date. Registrations received after four (4) weeks will be considered dependent upon enrollment, but cannot be guaranteed if the requested course enrollment is full. An acknowledgement will be issued upon receipt of the registration form. This is only an acknowledgement; a DEUTZ course confirmation letter will be issued under separate cover confirming the course. The course confirmation letter will contain information on hotel, transportation from the airport, directions to the hotel and the training facility, etc., as a courtesy, will make hotel reservations at a discounted rate in the student s name. The student is responsible for payment to hotel at time of check-in. Travel Arrangements Each student shall schedule his own travel. Please do not purchase airline tickets prior to receipt of the course confirmation letter. will not reimburse any expenses resulting from a course being cancelled.
Effective December 2006 Page 4/5 Course Cancellations Scheduled courses not receiving sufficient enrollment may be cancelled. In event of course cancellation by DEUTZ Corporation, the student will be offered a subsequent course. The paid registration fee will transfer to the subsequent course. If the student chooses not to attend a subsequent course, the registration fee will be refunded. In event of cancellation by the student, written notification must be received by seven (7) days prior to the first day of the course to qualify for refund of the registration fee or transfer to a future authorized DEUTZ service training course. Training Courses Available A specific engine family is covered in each authorized DEUTZ course to provide students comprehensive service training. A schedule of available courses may be previewed on-line at Field Service Training Field Service Training is offered to Distributors, Dealers and OEMs. 2-day and 3-day training courses are available. All Field Service Training expense is the responsibility of the DEUTZ Distributor sponsoring the course. Time and travel expenses incurred by instructors from are charged to the Distributor. A training engine, special tools, required hand tools and the parts necessary for assembly procedures for the requested Field Service Training shall be provided by the Distributor. The Distributor shall supply the training materials and manuals required during the training session. Training manuals can be purchased from. does not provide any of the above items for use during the Field Service Training session. Field Service Training Request A Field Service Training Request form must be completed and sent to the Regional Parts and Service Manager for approval. The request form must be received in the Service Training Department six (6) weeks in advance of the requested date if an instructor for Field Service Training from DEUTZ

The Field Service Training course(s) will be scheduled following approval of the date. Field Service Training Request forms are available on-line at Train the Trainer Overview has developed an authorized DEUTZ Train the Trainer instruction program to assist the Distributor in efforts to certify technicians and allow for training to be accomplished at the Distributor s location. The program is designed to ensure the certified Trainer presents the instruction program to the student in accordance with approved safe-working procedures. Each participant successfully completing the Train the Trainer instruction program will receive a certificate for the DEUTZ engine model(s) covered in the instruction program. A Trainer certified in an authorized DEUTZ Train the Trainer program may conduct training courses on the DEUTZ engine models for which the Trainer is certified. The Distributor must have, in addition to a DEUTZ Certified Trainer, a training facility with the necessary DEUTZ training engines and required tools. Provided the Distributor s training facility meets DEUTZ requirements for tooling, and the certified Trainer follows the DEUTZ training format, each individual successfully completing a DEUTZ Service Training course conducted by a certified DEUTZ Trainer will receive a Technician Certification Number and will be accepted by DEUTZ Corporation to perform DEUTZ warranty work. Regional Managers may audit the Distributor s training facility and content of the instruction program performed by an authorized DEUTZ Distributor Trainer to ensure approved safe-working procedures are being followed and DEUTZ training requirements are being met.
