Release Content The Esko Software Suite for WebCenter 14.0.1 contains: Suite 14 WebCenter DVD that includes WebCenter 14.0.1 and ArtiosCAD 14.0.1en Enterprise installer 1)2)3) Suite 14 Assembly 2 Engines Software Installation DVD WebCenter Release Notes (this document; also present on the installation DVD.) ArtiosCAD Enterprise and WebCenter User Documentation (PDF format) 1) An update to ArtiosCAD 14.0.1 Enterprise build 136 or later is mandatory for WebCenter 14.0.1 (on the application server only). 2) An update of the License Manager (installed from the ArtiosCAD installer) is also mandatory. 3) Installation of boards and the English language ArtiosCAD 14 defaults is mandatory to work correctly with CAD documents in WebCenter. Esko p. 1/6
3. Licensing and IT requirements 3.1 Licensing For WebCenter14 installation, Suite 14 licenses are needed for both WebCenter itself and the embedded ArtiosCAD 14. 3.2 IT requirements WebCenter 14 will run on 64-bit operating systems only. Only Windows Server 2008 R2 or later is supported. The WebCenter 14 installer optionally allows running the View server as a separate process. As a result of moving the view server into a separate process, 3 extra ports will need to be opened between the application and web server: 11099, 12500 and 14444. Since WebCenter 14 is running as 64 bit processes, the memory requirements have been increased. We recommend checking the installation manual for more details. 4. Knowledge base The standard WebCenter help function on http://help.esko.com/products/webcenter has recently been extended with a substantial (and growing) set of knowledge base articles. You can use knowledge base information to find tips on how to resolve a problem or utilize your WebCenter installation better. To get to the knowledge base for all Esko products: http://help.esko.com/knowledgebase To get a list of all articles related to WebCenter http://help.esko.com/knowledgebase/search?query=webcenter To further limit your search, edit the Knowledge Base Search field to contain both WebCenter and your own criteria. The special keywords AND and OR can be used with brackets and wildcard characters (? and *) to refine the search e.g. WebCenter AND (attributes OR attribute) all articles about WebCenter and attributes WebCenter AND attribute* - another way to get practically the same result Esko p. 2/6
5. New features Esko WebCenter 14.0.1 5.1 Single Sign On 5.1.1 Project Manager Configuration Rights When the option Allow Project Managers to change their users' access to SSO instances. is disabled on the SSO instance page, Project Managers will be prevented from changing their user s access to SSO instances by removing the dropdowns with SSO instance access rights on the user s profile or by completely hiding the instances when they re disabled. 5.1.2 SAML SSO Plugin WebCenter 14.0.1 officially supports the SAML SSO plugin. This plugin will make it possible for WebCenter to communicate over the SAML 2.0 protocol with Single Sign On (SSO) Services such as Shibboleth, PingFederate and Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS). This makes that users can authenticate through a SSO mechanism with WebCenter using their federated identity. In other words user can use the credentials of their company-wide account to authenticate to WebCenter. The plugin allows for a true Single Sign On experience in which (when configured properly) the user doesn t need to submit his credentials if he already authenticated to the federation service before. Currently the plugin does support the following SAML 2.0 profiles: SP POST IdP POST SP POST IdP Redirect Unsolicited SSO (SP POST IdP HTTP Redirect) SAML Artifact binding is not yet supported though. The SAML SSO plugin is only available for customers with a WebCenter Advanced License. 5.2 WebCenter Site Service 5.2.1 Set the duration logs are kept on the application server. Through a new input on the Admin > Configuration > Site Service page, administrator users can now configure for how many days log file archives from the WebCenter Application Server JBoss are being retained. 5.3 Workflow Engine 5.3.1 New customer smart name options Two new smart names [customer legal name] and [customer short name] is added in addition to the original [customer name]. The [customer name] smart name as before gets resolved to Customer Legal Name (Short Name)" which is not practical in all cases. The new smart names are available in all the places where [customer name] was available. This means also in the "route on" field of the router. The Create Project node customer field that used to be set to the [customer name] smart name by default is now set to the [customer legal name] by default Esko p. 3/6
because the project creation expects the legal name and the backend was replacing the customer short name with the legal name anyway. 5.4 HTML5 Viewer 5.4.1 Extended OpenViewer SDK support: approval and annotation callback URLs The HTML5 Viewer does not yet support all parameters of the OpenViewer SDK call. In WebCenter 14.0.1 support is added in the HTML5 Viewer for following parameters: - annotationcallbackurl: URL called whenever annotations are saved in the viewer (default nothing) - approvalcallbackurl: URL called whenever an approval action is done in the viewer (default nothing) 5.4.2 Caliper Tool The caliper tool can be used to check the height or width of multiple objects. You can make a selection or set a fixed width/height. The selection can be moved around. While the selection is made, you will see two parallel (horizontal or vertical) lines. The lines will be horizontal if the two points you selected are more above each other than next to each other. Once the selection is made, the area outside the selection is dimmed to highlight the selected area. The measurements of the caliper tool are shown in a popover next to the selection and in the sub toolbar. 5.4.3 Page list support The HTML5 Viewer now fully supports page list documents. Pages can be marked in the page list widget (by right clicking on a thumbnail) or in the menu bar, marked pages can be approved, rejected or commented in bulk using the approval buttons. A color coded bar above the page thumbnail displays the approval state of the page: Grey: no approval cycle Blue: pending approval Green: approved or force approved Red: rejected or force rejected The folio of the page is displayed below the thumbnail. A blue circle next to the folio indicates that the user has a pending approval action for this page. The Approval Details widget displays the approval information for the active page, whenever another page is selected the widget is updated. When clicking on an approval action in a Page list document, you can execute this action on the current page, all marked pages, selected pages or all pages. Esko p. 4/6
Page list can contain empty or blank pages. Those have different thumbnails in the page list widget. It is not possible to activate empty pages and compare blank pages. Blank pages can have an approval setup; empty pages cannot have an approval setup. In reader spread empty and blank pages are shown as an empty area. 6. Known issues and limitations The HTML5Viewer has not the same extensive feature set as the Java Viewer. Following features are not yet available in the HTML5 Viewer: Improved mobile support Digital Film file support (e.g. Screen ruling tool, View/Compensate distortion) Info panel Ruler alignment tool View widget advanced features (e.g. Show Margins, Seamless View) Zoom to fit width/height separately CAD overlay in compare Navigator widget Collaboration mode Custom filter in annotations Full OpenViewer SDK support 7.
