4 5 Modern Fleet Management The vehicle hardware and the software for the user interact and in so doing facilitate your fleet management. Here is an overview of the components and features of our product family. With connect:ac, you can control access to your fleet: who is currently behind the wheel of which vehicle? This creates the basis for your planned fleet usage. connect:dt documents your vehicle usage: Has a vehicle been used a lot or has it often been idle? Have there been accidents? Is the vehicle functional? With connect:an, you can analyze and control the performance of your fleet: How often does a vehicle make a trip or lift something? How much energy does it consume? connect:tr tracks the location of your vehicles: Is the vehicle in use in a hall or outside? Or is it approaching a specific warehousing area? Thereby you can control vehicle features depending on its location. 6 7 connect:desk The connect: data cockpit The connect:desk application is the centerpiece of our connect: portfolio. This is where all the data collected by the hardware comes together and is analyzed and monitored. The software is used to manage the drivers, the vehicles, and the fleet as a whole, putting all the relevant information at your fingertips. Organized connect:desk displays information broken down by company organization and assigns the drivers accordingly. Transparent connect:desk presents you with the key vehicle data, clearly displayed on a customized dashboard or in the form of detailed analyses and reports relating to individual vehicles, drivers, or divisions. Planned connect:desk reminds you about regular fleet maintenance and driver training, and assists you in planning work rotas to accommodate these measures. Number of users and features of the software are fully scalable and the user interface is intuitive. connect:desk is therefore equally suited to vehicle fleets both large and small. Not only experienced fleet managers with complex tasks, but also occasional users who only need individual functions find it easy to use. connect:desk is installed on a PC or a notebook. The database is located on one of the user s PCs or on a local server, and other users access it via a local network. Any number of users can be incorporated, and their access rights and available functions can be configured individually. 33Maps the organizational structures of individual divisions or of the entire company 33Assignment of drivers and vehicles to one or more organizational levels 33Management of access rights based on the vehicle type, driver s license, and period of validity 33Planning and monitoring of vehicle maintenance 33Monitoring training and refresher training for drivers 33Digital archiving driver and vehicle documents 33Generating interactive reports in the form of tables and diagrams 33Generating analyses of fleet optimization and vehicle usage 3 3 Automatic e-mail dispatch of individually configured reports and messages
8 9 Infrastructure How the fleet communicates with connect:desk To incorporate your vehicles into the fleetmanagement via connect:desk, we establish a reasonable but effective data communication infrastrukture at your premises together with you. connect:portal The mobile solution Do you only need certain key figures with which to run your fleet efficiently and want to access them without installing additional infrastructure at your premises? Or do you want to keep an overview of the most important information relating to your vehicles when on the move, too? If so, connect:portal is the right solution for you. Vehicle components Data transmission SyncPoint Database Application software Training and support The Linde Academy in Aschaffenburg offers various training courses for using connect:desk and connect:portal, each with a different focus. Our trainers will also happily travel to your premises to provide group training sessions. We sit down with you and put together just the right training components to suit your needs. We help you choose and install everything from the necessary infrastructure all the way up to the finalized connect: solution. CAM-10, CAM-20 FDE-10 FDE-70 1-D + 3-D shock sensors Retrofitting solution for older vehiclesnot equipped with Bluetooth: Bluetooth retrofit kit SyncPoint Database Local application SyncPoints provide the data needed in connect:desk. These are industry computers or normal PCs that form a network of synchronisation points. They are installed in suitable places at the plant or in the warehouse, such as at charging stations, at traffic hubs, or in parking lots. If a vehicle from your fleet approaches a SyncPoint, the vehicle s information is automatically retrieved and transmitted via Bluetooth. connect:composer controls the SyncPoints. The program processes the information and passes it on to the database, where the data is accessed using the connect:desk software. connect:composer simultaneously sends information from connect:desk to the vehicle such as the shock sensors response sensitivity settings. This saves you having to manually configure the hardware of each individual vehicle. Important vehicle data such as hours in service or error codes can be directly transmitted to the Linde cloud via the cell phone network. You can access this data anytime via connect:portal, using any PC, tablet, or smartphone with Internet access. Via the portal, you can immediately record the most important information, generate reports, and export the data for use in other systems. 33Straightforward data access with no local infrastructure 33Simple application for using specific functions 33Access from anywhere via the Internet 33Freely configurable data collection frequency 33Generation of customized reports, with the option of automatic e-mail dispatch
10 Hardware Teaching your forklift to talk The electronic key The various connect: hardware components are the link between your fleet, the database, and the connect: software. They collect and transfer control and sensor data or serve as an electronic ignition switch. Our hardware components can be ordered ex works with new vehicles or are available as a retrofit kit. The electronic damage monitor The digital driver s logbook The automated error code transmitter The digital usage analyzer The digital battery manager 2 The automated traffic regulator 1 3 1 connect:data unit (CDX) The data unit (CDX) logs the data on the vehicle and transmits it to the Linde cloud via the cell phone network. It can also send commands back to the vehicle controls. The unit also downloads firmware updates and additional functions via the cell phone network. Retrofitting the connect:data unit is easy and takes very little time. The unit is directly connected to the vehicle controls and is operational immediately. 2 connect:access unit (CAM) The access unit (CAM) is available in two different versions: drivers can identify themselves to a vehicle either by means of a personal PIN or using an RFID chip. Vehicle data such as shock readings are transmitted to the SyncPoints via Bluetooth. This unit is likewise available as a retrofit solution. 3 Bluetooth retrofit kit Is part of your fleet not equipped with Bluetooth? If so, simply retrofit vehicles with wireless communication using the Bluetooth retrofit kit. It consists of a transmitter which is connected to the existing components using ready-made cable sets and which sends the collected data to the local database via the synchronisation points.
