2 THE TCS IP-GATEWAY BASIC FOR THE SINGLE-FAMILY HOME Cost-effective integration of systems into the IP network Installed in the control cabinet, the new IP-Gateway converts the signals of the to the internet protocol (IP). The door communication is extended for mobile applications by using the TCS:App* or TCS:Softphone. For this an existing network infrastructure (Wifi) is used. The TCS IP front-door stations are connected through RJ45-connector. The power supply may be through PoE or over a seperate DC power supply. A dedicated network infrastructure for door communication is not required. Compatible with any SIPcompliant IP phone, TCS offers a high-performance solution for IP door communication. By using the TCS:App* mobile devices or PCs can be converted into extensions of your door communication. *With the TCS:App for ios and Android devices door communication can be operated within the Wifi and even beyond. The proper functioning of the TCS:App depends on the network infrastructure and its proper configuration. The correct allocation of IP addresses, a proper routing or adequately configured firewall, sufficient bandwidth and a sufficient Wifi signal level within the desired operating range are required. The TCS:App is an extension of the control options of door communication. Furthermore, the TCS:App depends on updates of the operating systems, which can impede the proper functioning of the TCS:App. Therefore, it is recommended to include stationary indoor stations for backup. Already existing installations may be extended by an IP-Gateway in the control cabinet. The Gateway converts the signals of the to the internet protocol IP.
