Using PLR To... Grow Your Offline Consulting Business By Justin Popovic. Best Quality PLR Setting The Stage: This report is going to show you how you can leverage PLR products to quickly start making sales as an offline consultant. Iʼm sure you are well aware of the huge opportunity that exists when it comes to helping offline companies market themselves online. This report will give you a look at some of the best ways to get up and running with your own offline consulting business. On top of that, I have included a number of PLR templates that you can put to use immediately. Simply use these templates, add your company contact information, make any additions/subtractions as you see fit and give them away to companies as lead generation. Introduction: In this report, I am assuming that you are either just getting started with an offline consulting business or you already have a consulting business and you are looking for new ways to expand. Because there are so many different opportunities for entrepreneurs to make money working with offline companies, I am not going to go into specific techniques or service offerings. Instead, I am going to talk at a higher level and use examples that you should be able to apply to whatever business model you are working with. For example, some offline consultants spend most of their time and focus on SEO services while other consultants never touch SEO. Since we are dealing with PLR products, there is enough variety out there that you can find products that will help you in your business no matter what you are doing. This report is broken into 2 sections which will be found on the following pages. Section 1 discusses the essentials of offline consulting and Section 2 focuses on PLR and how it can be a huge asset to your business.

Section 1 - Offline Consulting Essentials For more experienced business people, this section may be a review but I still think this information is very valuable to go over regardless if you are brand new or have many years experience. It never hurts to revisit the basic principles that make your business profitable. Repeat Business The easiest thing for most business owners to get wrapped up in is client volume. We instinctively believe that more customers means more revenue which means more cash in our wallets. The truth of the matter is that quality always trumps quantity. Offline consulting is no different. Once you have a happy and satisfied customer, you have highly qualified up-sell opportunities. Many of these customer Referrals In addition to repeat sales, your existing clients will also become your best affiliates. One word of mouth referral can often beat out even the largest advertising budget. Warm leads from happy clients usually means more money in your pocket. What Can You Sell? When you are working with offline companies to help them bring their offers online, there are SO many different services you can offer that it pretty much boils down to your personal preference. Here is a list of some of the best opportunities to make money with offline consulting: Website Design This is one of the more traditional ways to make money as a consultant so I m not going to say much here. You can easily outsource these kind of deals or if you want to do what I have done for the past few years, just take some time to develop some skills in Wordpress and you can do the work yourself. It takes a bit more time but it can also be a quick process...and you keep more money in your pocket that you can use to grow your business. Site design is often a good entry point for developing relationships with customers. If you build their website for them, they will likely be very interested to hear how you can help them with some of the other topics that I am about to cover in this report... Mobile Sites Mention the word mobile or smart phone to any business owner and they will likely take interest. They see their customers coming into their establishments every day and many of them are fiddling on their cell phones and smart phones. In fact, a lot of these customers are doing a good portion of their internet browsing on these devices. Helping offline companies get their online marketing mobileready is an absolutely huge selling opportunity for consultants. You obviously don t need to have these skills yourself to make this happen but you do have to understand enough about the mobile landscape to be able to act as the consultant getting a mobile site implemented correctly and efficiently. There are some PLR products as well as many non-plr products that you can use to get yourself up to speed on implementing these kinds of solutions. Social Media Management The most common type of service here is Twitter and Facebook management. You can handle all of the Twitter and Facebook account creation, profile management, status updates, fan page updates and promotions and so on. Your job as the consultant is to position some kind of ongoing management plan. When you sell a service like this, make sure you explicitly define your weekly or monthly deliverables.

Have measurements in place like number of followers, number of fans, new leads from social media, customer interaction on social media and so on. The more information you track about the campaign, the more you can report back to the customer. They KNOW they need to be active on these networks so if you do a good job, you can earn a very profitable monthly retainer doing this. Blog Design and Management A lot of offline companies have websites. As mentioned in an earlier point, there will ALWAYS be money to made on design deals but in the case where the client doesn t need a website, there is a very good chance they do NOT have a company blog. Blogging is very similar to social media. Even the most nontechnical, out of touch business owner knows that a company blog is a good thing to have. But like most business owners, they are busy running their business so it remains way down the priority list. You can step in a become their pseudo-blogger if you position the service correctly. The easiest way to do this is offering a service to setup a company blog on their existing domain. For example, you could create a subdomain like blog.theirdomain.com and install Wordpress. You could then prewrite 30 or 40 blog posts (which can be outsourced) relevant to their industry. You could future date all of these posts so that their blog is updated regularly over the course of a year. On top of the blog posts, you could also become the mediator for customized blog content. Outsourced posts about their industry is a start but the real value comes in when they start publishing real information about themselves and their business on the blog. You could help create this content by interviewing the business owner, interviewing the staff and even interviewing the customers. You could take photos and videos of their business in action (more on this in a few minutes). It is really up to you but the whole idea of blog management can earn you a very respectable monthly retainer. Basic SEO You will find that most offline companies have absolutely no idea about search engine optimization. One look at the title of most websites and it will become very evident. Getting the average local business to page 1 of Google for a local keyword term is usually a very easy thing to do. But just because it is easy does not mean it lacks value. In fact, it means HUGE value to a customer. As an example, one of my offline clients had no website and no online presence at all. He had just opened a restaurant in a town of about 25,000 people. This town has an extremely competitive restaurant market. On top of that, his restaurant was about 10 minutes outside of town near a ski resort. So foot traffic was pretty much non existent. We did a basic design deal and the we upsold basic SEO services. With just proper title tags, some on page optimization and a handful of inbound links, we got him to #3 on Google for his town name + the keyword restaurant. Over the course of 1 year, he received over 500 opt ins on his site for a free dessert coupon. Many people brought this dessert coupon in. Do you think he believes in Internet Marketing now? Google Places One of the most important online marketing actions that a local offline company can take is to get properly registered and index on Google Places. Do a local search for any business-based keyword and you will likely see a Google Places result as the first organic result. Even with a good basic SEO plan in place, offline companies will need to optimize themselves on Google Places. The good news is that this is a perfect opportunity for you to come in and sell consulting services. Google Places can be a bit of a pain to get working properly and this is where you can charge a premium. The payoff from the client s

Ongoing SEO Getting a local business to the top of Google for their major localized keyword is often quite easy but also quite profitable to do as a consulting service. Many clients see the value and want to start dominating Google for tons of different local (and sometimes notso-local keywords). This is when you can step in and sell additional services to an existing customer. If you remember earlier in this report I talked about the huge amount of revenue that can be found through repeat buyers. This is a perfect opportunity. With ongoing SEO, you simply layout a plan with your customer for all the various keywords they would like to optimize for. Make sure you never guarantee any kind of specific placement on Google. Simply tell them that you have a great track record getting your clients to Page 1 of Google for their local keywords. Once you have a list of all the keywords they would like to target, you can put together a monthly SEO contract. This can include both on page optimization as well as link building. When it comes to link building, if you have a number of SEO clients, you can then look at outsourcing a lot of this work to link building companies essentially building a link building arbitrage system. Customers will continue to pay as long as they see results in terms of their Google positioning. Video Marketing Services The basic idea here is to leverage the power of Youtube to get your customer more exposure. Youtube is the number 1 video sharing website online but it is also the second largest search engine. Since most of your customers will at least be interested in SEO, Youtube presents a number of business growth opportunities for them. With video services, you start by creating and managing the Youtube account for your customer. Then, you can a basic portable HD video camera (many are less than $200 now) and do a profile video on their business. It doesn t have to be anything overly fancy, just something that showcases their company. In some cases you might want to try a slideshow video with a narration. You can easily make these on a Mac or PC or you can outsource them fairly cheaply as well. For example, check out the commercial on my PLR membership site: Best Quality PLR Make sure every video you create for your customer contains their major localized keywords in both the title of the video as well as the description and tags. Also make sure that the very first thing you type into the video description is a link to their website or company blog. Mobile Marketing Assistance Just like social media and blogging, mobile marketing is one of those topics that pretty much every business owner has thought about but also has no clue what to do with it. Depending on the type of business your customer runs, mobile marketing could very well be a huge opportunity for them to grow their business. Your job as a consultant is to understand their business model and determine if/how you can implement a mobile marketing strategy for them. Mobile marketing services can include Foursquare, Yelp setup and management, SMS and Text campaigns, mobile video, mobile apps, advergames, bluetooth advertising among a number of others. The purpose of this report is to simply introduce the idea. You might want to take a look at this PLR bundle as a way to expand your own mobile marketing knowledge as well as acquire content that you can use to establish yourself with prospects: Mobile Marketing PLR Bundle

Virtual Assistance Arbitrage Many offline companies are bombarded with work and they are always behind the 8 ball when it comes to keeping up with their business administration. Just like most online marketers eventually look to a VA to help save time, offline companies can benefit from the same thing. The truth of the matter is that many offline companies have no idea that virtual assistants even exist... or if they do, they have no idea how to find one. As a consultant, you can easily add a nice sum of monthly income to your business by coordinating offline companies with VAs. Many offline companies do not need full time assistance from a VA. In fact, many of their administrative tasks can be handled in a day or 2 each week. With this service, you can line up VAs through services like http://easyoutsource.com and have the VAs take care of the admin tasks of a number of different companies. These VAs have a wide range of skills so you can have them help with basic tasks like data entry but they can also help with website/blog management, link building, posting ads on Craigslist, email marketing, book keeping and many other different tasks. One VA may cost you $400-$500 per month but you could bill them out to your customers at a higher rate (for example, $300 per month X 4 customers). In this example, you can profit $700 with a simple VA arbitrage. I learn best through examples and I have a friend who fits this example... so let s roll with it. Take a local tutoring company. Even the smallest cities have a number of tutoring companies competing for the business of local parents who want extra help for their kids in school. Having seen my friend s business in action, I know how most of these companies run. They have scheduled tutoring sessions every weekday in the afternoon and evening. The tutors follow a general template to take a student from struggling to proficient and many times to a level of overachievement. With a little bit of planning and work, this tutoring company could record that entire process into a series of 50 or 100 videos (or whatever makes sense for the subject) and package each video with a worksheet. These lessons could very easily be loaded into a members area where the student could follow along at their own pace. This wouldn t necessarily replace the live tutoring but it becomes a value-add proposition. The tutoring company could offer this as an upsell to an existing customer to pay on a recurring basis. Using a digital product strategy like this, MANY offline companies could add instant profits to their operation. All they need is someone like you to come in a create a plan to make it happen! Please proceed to Section 2. Digital Product Creation This is an area of offline consulting that surprisingly few people ever use. Perhaps they think it is more work than it is worth... or maybe they just don t understand how to sell the value. Almost any offline company I can think of has a potential opportunity to increase their revenues by adding digital products to their repertoire.

Section 2 - How PLR Products Fit In Use PLR To Learn This is the first step in the overall process. When you decide to work with offline companies, it is usually pretty simple to gain enough knowledge on a particular topic to then be qualified to consult. In fact, in my corporate days, I spent years involved in consulting deals where I was literally just a step or 2 ahead of my client in terms of subject matter knowledge. As a consultant, as long as you stay a little bit ahead of the game, you can make it work. So let s say you find an offline company that has budget to build up their social media presence. For example, they want a company Twitter account and a Facebook fan page. If you don t have any previous experience doing this kind of work (which is very unlikely considering you are likely involved in IM since you are reading this report), you can educate yourself using PLR products. Let s look at my PLR membership site Best Quality PLR. We have a Twitter product that helps you master Twitter in 5 days or less: Twitter Mastery With this PLR product, not only do you get a full guide showing you exactly how to become a Twitter expert, but there are also training videos and other supporting material. The same thing would apply for the Facebook piece. We have a similar product that helps you learn Facebook including how to setup fan pages: Facebook Facts Just like the Twitter product, you would use this PLR package for your own education. You could do a few practice dry runs, setup some dummy accounts and simulate the process you would take an offline company through. No matter what kind of offline consulting you are choosing to do, there are very likely many PLR products that you can use as a student. The good news is that you are now going to be able to turn around and use these same PLR products as lead generators for your consulting business. I will explain the strategy in the next section. Referrals In addition to repeat sales, your existing clients will also become your best affiliates. One word of mouth referral can often beat out even the largest advertising budget. Warm leads from happy clients usually means more money in your pocket. Use PLR For Lead Generation Even the most established consulting companies with great customer success stories still need to do lead generation. You can never stop growing, expanding and evolving your business. As mentioned before, this doesn t mean you need to have a pipeline of thousands and thousands of prospects to be successful... it just means that you need to have strategies in place that help you find new potential clients. PLR products can be a great resource when it comes to lead generation. The scope of this report will not cover all of the different approaches you can take to generating leads but I will talk about a cool example to get you thinking. PLR For Physical Reports This is a technique that I have used to get prospects calling ME! The idea is simple but effective: You put together a physical report and print it out on a higher quality paper. Consider using a printing service so that your report looks nice.

You can get a 4 page report printed for a couple of dollars. Make sure the report is very relevant to the business owner and then include a personal letter at the end with a call to action (i.e. a meeting, a phone call, an invite to a presentation, etc...). You then mail the physical report along with your personalized letter directly to the stakeholder you are trying to reach. Use a classic brown envelope and use handwriting to write on the envelope. Even the busiest person has time to check out personally addressed mail :) So how does PLR fit in? Easy! The contents of your report can come directly from a PLR product, article or report. Just make sure that the content matches your offer. In most cases, you will have to alter the PLR content so that it fits your offer and sounds like it is coming from you or your company. But if the PLR product is well written, this should not be that difficult to do. Free PLR Templates This report came with free PLR templates that you could use in this exact scenario. Check them out now and see how you can make it work in your business! Use PLR In The Sales Process 1. PLR For Presentation Material Whether you are speaking at a service club, a networking event, a seminar, a trade show or even presenting ideas in the board room of a local business, you need content to fuel your business presentations. With the right mix of PLR products, you can extract some excellent content that has already been prepared for you. For example, let s say you want to talk to a company about a long term SEO strategy that can bring highly targeted traffic to their website, blog or sales pages. You could use a package like: The Customer Magnet Using this PLR product, you can literally copy the main content from the resource guide and paste it into a Powerpoint or slideshow presentation. Simply tailor the content so that it fits your overall proposal and you are off to the races. 2. PLR For Proof of Concept Again thinking back to my corporate consulting days, I was able to sell huge consulting deals once I proved to the client that there was going to be a measurable return on investment. It should be absolutely no different for your clients... in fact, if you are dealing with really small companies, showing a return on investment is the most important step in your sales process. I mean, who is going to invest into anything if they don t see a path to a return?? An example could be using our Twitter PLR that I mentioned earlier: Twitter Mastery In the Twitter PLR product, there is an entire section that shows you how to use Twitter to setup a local alert system that informs a business anytime their company name is mentioned or any keyword related to their industry. You could follow this PLR product to a) See exactly how to setup the service for your client and, b) Give them access to a video and written guide showing them exactly how the whole thing had been setup (since this PLR comes with written and video content). By showing them the result AND how you achieved the result, they will trust you that much more. When you start putting together a larger proposal for online marketing services, they will feel confident that you are the right person for the job.

Sell PLR That You Have Customized There are a number of companies that you will come across that have the ability to implement online marketing strategies inhouse. They don t need your consulting per se, but they do need guidance and leadership. This is a great opportunity for your business and integrating PLR. 1. Use PLR to Create/ Deliver Training Even going back to the Twitter example in the previous point, you could use that entire PLR product to create a full Twitter training course customized your company logo, contact information, etc... As a trainer, you would not have to develop content from scratch since this has already been done. You can then focus on customizing the content to meet the specific needs of your customer. On top of your live training, you can print manuals and cut DVDs as bonus educational content. Your client pays you for the information and they become enable to then run their own Twitter accounts and campaigns. If you really do a quality job, you can position yourself for many more training offerings as they grow, evolve and see value in the online world. 2. Use PLR to Sell Courses Again, similar to the previous example, you can sell do-ityourself training either through a website or by distributing physical versions of online marketing courses. With the right PLR product, all you would need to do is add your company branding and any relevant upsells into the package and you could have a course, ready to sell, right away using PLR. Some of our PLR products that could be turned into courses would include: Content Creation Guide Corner The Local Search Market The Customer Magnet 10 Internet Marketing Commandments Social Media for Offline Businesses 3. Use PLR to Create Membership Sites Similar to the previous point, you could just as easily create a private website where you deliver training and information products that help your offline customers get themselves online. This is more appealing to the consultants that don t want to have to fork out the cash for creating the physical products prior to selling. Use PLR For Up- Selling There is nothing additional to add here that hasn t already been detailed but I thought it was important to use it as a reminder point. Too often, consulting companies forget to follow up and use their previous successes with customers to introduce new offers. Assuming you have served a customer well, they will more than likely be happy to at least hear what you have to offer. Make sure you are always thinking of new ways to upsell and make sure you leverage PLR products to do so. That way, you don t have to do all of the work and research yourself! Use PLR For Training A lot of the training concepts were covered in the PLR Selling point but I wanted to highlight a specific aspect of training where PLR can come in very handy. Specifically, let s talk about websites and blogs. You might sell site/blog design to a customer and then hand over the site for them to manage moving forward. Unless you are a designer, you are likely not in this game to manage websites full time. Well why not add MASSIVE value to your site/blog design deals by giving you customers access to training that helps them manage and maintain these assets on their own?

Instead of selling a single design deal and moving on, why not sell the design deal ALONG with a subscription to a training program where they can get ongoing assistance to manage their sites. You can create your own membership area and use PLR tutorials and products to give them all of the training they need. We have a couple of products that would work well for a Wordpress customer: The Wordpress Advantage The Wordpress Expert Use PLR For Customer Appreciation I have already talked enough about the lifetime value of a customer when it comes to referrals and repeat selling. The best possible thing you can do for the long term success of your consulting business is to stay in touch with your customers and continue to deliver value... even if they are not paying for the value. Consider sending your clients important updates on a semiregular basis. It will keep them thinking about you and it will give you a chance to really help them in their business even when they aren t paying you. Again, we are talking about building long term trust and credibility. Use PLR To Send New Data - As online marketing strategies evolve, so will the market. Your customers will need to be kept up to speed on the latest trends, ideas and opportunities for growth via the internet. Using any of the methods described throughout this document, you can collect timely PLR reports and products and brand them with your own unique twist as a free report you deliver to your existing client base. You can send these reports physically or electronically and there is nothing wrong with including new offers or invites since you are delivering value first and foremost. Thank you for reading this report about using PLR to grow your offline consulting business. Obviously each point could be expanded upon and utilized in a number of different ways. I hope you received value and gained some new profitable ideas for your business. You have seen many references made to our PLR membership site Best Quality PLR... It is obviously no secret that I am actively promoting this program and my hope is that this report has given you reason to consider becoming a member. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about the Best Quality PLR membership program, please Contact Me directly and I will be sure to get back to you ASAP.
