The University of Texas at El Paso 2006-08 Transfer Guide for El Paso ommunity ollege ollege of Education BAHELOR OF INTERDISIPLINARY STUDIES (BIS) ED-87 The courses listed below can be taken at El Paso ommunity ollege in partial fulfillment of UTEP s Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree and its ore urriculum requirements. The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) degree requires of all students a general education core, an interdisciplinary studies component, and a professional education component. Students enrolled in the BIS will choose from three certification levels: Early hildhood Grades Education (E-4), Middle Grades Education (4-8), or Special Education (E-12). This arrangement of courses will enable EP students to complete the entire ore (42 Hrs.), the Field of Study (12 Hrs.), and 12 hours of Interdisciplinary Studies, for a maximum of 66 transferable hours to UTEP. EP s Early hildhood Field of Study (FOS) courses will transfer to the Early hildhood -- Grade 4 BIS degree. The Middle School Field of Study courses will transfer to the 4-8 Grades BIS degree.
