1 Rogers State University Department of Health Sciences Bachelor of Science Nursing
2 Rogers State University Department of Health Sciences Bachelor of Science with a Major in Nursing Introduction Rogers State University s Bachelor of Science Nursing Program is specifically designed for the Registered Nurse. This degree provides an opportunity for any associate degree or diploma-prepared nurse to achieve academic and personal goals and to develop stronger clinical reasoning and analytical skills to advance their careers. The degree program builds on initial education at the associate degree or diploma level with course work designed to enhance professional development, prepare for a broader scope of practice, and provide greater understanding of the cultural, political, economic, and social issues that affect patients and influence care delivery. A baccalaureate education provides the graduate with additional liberal arts learning and a global perspective. The Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Nursing prepares the student for graduate programs in nursing. Many professional practice settings require or highly prefer the baccalaureate degree for specific nursing roles, particularly those that involve community health or nursing management. Admission Requirements Nursing program admission requirements, secondary to university admission, are listed below. 1. Admission to the University as a bachelor degree seeking student. 2. Completion of an Application for BS in Nursing.. Submission of official transcripts or test scores from all colleges, universities, and / or nursing schools attended. 4. Verification of associate degree or diploma in nursing. 5. Demonstration of a cumulative GPA of 2.5 in previous course work applicable to the associate degree or diploma in nursing. 6. Hold a valid, unencumbered Registered Nurse license. 7. Documentation of professional liability insurance coverage with limits of $1,000,000/ incident and $,000,000 aggregate. Students may attend on a full time or part time basis.

Please note: Any arrest, charge, or conviction for a felony or a misdemeanor or charge or conviction for Medicare fraud may affect a student s ability to attend certain clinical sites for clinical education and field work and thereby prevent a student from satisfactorily meeting course objectives. Rogers State University s RN-BS/N program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), formerly National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
