Quick Reference Guide How to Place an OC efiling Order for Initiating Cases Go to the Rapid Legal homepage at rapidlegal.com and select Login on the upper right hand corner. When the drop down appears, type in your email, password and click on the Login button. Please note: If using browser (IE), Compatibility View should be turned off by clicking on the compatibility button in the address bar. The button will turn gray indicating that it is off. 1 Once you are logged into the customer portal, click on Place an Order. 2 In the What would you like us to do? field, select efiling.

If this is an Unlawful Detainer case, you will be required to provide the remedies sought, premesis address, and daily rental amount. 5 To add a party, click on the Add Party or Add Attorney button and provide the information. Note: If you select Yes to indicate that this is your client, a Billing Code may be required to proceed. The Billing Code is your firm s internal, billing, or client matter number code on a particular case. Click on the Next.

You may search for your Document Title by entering in Keywords. Click on the Attach File button and double click on the document to be uploaded. Each document is required to be uploaded individually. Please repeat the process as many times as you need until all your documents are uploaded, e.g., Summons, Complaint, Cover Sheet, Proof of Service, etc. Checkmark the Lead Document, Indicate who filed the documents, and in whose behalf. Click Next. If the Filed By Party Contact Info field box appears, provide your Information. Click Save.

Click on Next. 5 Verify that your firm and/or client is on the party list. To add a party, click on the Add Party or Add Attorney button and provide the information. Click on the Next. 6 To upload your documents, type in the name of the Document Title in the field box. You may search for your Document Title by entering in Keywords. Click on the Attach File button and double click on the document to be uploaded.

Rapid Legal Reference Guide: How To Place a Riverside efile Order for UD Initiating Cases Customer Portal 5.3 3 Select Riverside - Central Courts in the Select County section for all Riverside Counties EXCEPT for Indio, Blythe or Palm Springs. For those counties, select Riverside - Indio, Blythe or Palm Springs in the Select County section. Select Case Initiation in the Select Filing Type section. (Reminder: Only Unlawful Detainers - Case Initiations can be efiled with Riverside Courthouse. All other cases or subsequent UD cases must be filed as a regular Court Filing. ) Upon clicking on Next a message will appear, stating that efling in Riverside County is not mandated. Click on Proceed. If this is the first time you are efiling with Rapid Legal, you will be required to click on Click Here to obtain your Riverside County Court Identification number for efiling. A message will appear instructing you to contact Customer Support at (800) 366-5445 to obtain your Riverside County Court Identification number for efiling. You will not be able to proceed without the ID number. 4 The Select County section will default to Riverside - Central Courts. The Select Filing Type will default to Case Initiation [Unlawful Detainer]. Click on Next. You also have the option to serve the documents after filing. We will discuss this at the end of this user guide.

Click on Next. 5 To add a party, click on the Add Party or Add Attorney button and provide the information. Note: If you select Yes to indicate that this is your client, a Billing Code may be required to proceed. (Subsequent Filing means there is already a case number) Click on Next. You also have the option to serve the documents after filing. We will discuss this at the end of this user guide. San Francisco Courts only allows efiling for Subsequent Civil Cases. To file New Cases, Family Law, Unlawful Detainer and Fee Waivers, please use the user guide How to Place a Court Filing Order. 4 Type in the Case Number and hit Enter. Select the Jurisdiction of where you will want the documents to be filed. Click Next. You may also choose to deliver a courtesy copy to a Department/Division or to an alternate location.

Click on the Add Party(s) button. When the Add Party box appears, provide the name of the party involved, their role, and if they are your client. If you select Yes to indicate that this is your client, a Billing Code may be required to proceed. The Billing Code is your firm s internal, billing, or client matter number code on a particular case. 6 To upload your documents, type in the name of the Document Title in the field box. You may search for your Document Title by entering in Keywords. (You may also enter your own document title by typing in the title and hitting Enter. ) Click on the Attach File button and double click on the document to be uploaded.

Type the name of the Party to be served, their capacity, and agent for service (if known.) Choose the Service Level, Address Type, and the address of where you would like Rapid Legal to serve the documents. Click on Next. If you would like Rapid Legal to file or notarize the Proof of Service (Affidavit of Service,) checkmark the File or Notarize box of the Proof section (additional charges apply.)
