Appendix E Salaries for Select Criminal Justice Positions The following provides an overview of salaries of for select criminal justice positions in the different areas of criminal justice. Be aware that these are estimates taken from various outlets and from various years. Actual salaries vary by jurisdiction, years of experience, education, and region of the country. Specificity amongst positions is noted wherever such information is accessible. For instance, the Bureau of Labor Statistics lumps probation officers and correctional treatment specialists together in their salary-related data. Other outlets provide greater detail. The information is provided as a guide to help readers gauge the types of salaries associated with various positions. Readers are encouraged to further investigate each of these positions for greater salary-related details. Corrections Correctional Officers/Jailers Median salary was $35,760 in May 2006.
