I continue to teach two sections of Advanced Clinical Practice I & II, Assessment and the DSM and Foundation of Service Delivery in the MSW program. I serve as lead instructor for the clinical practice faculty and mentor adjuncts. In an effort to address the needs of students planning a career in clinical social work, I created and teach an elective, Practice Consultation Seminar, (CN 8816) focusing on best practice techniques for diverse populations and a broad spectrum of disorders. I currently serve on the Curriculum Committee, representing the Clinical Social Work concentration, the NTT Promotion committee and I chair the Admissions Committee. Additionally, I produced instructional videos teaching therapeutic techniques with couples and families. I provide field supervision for MSW interns at the Center for Social Policy and Community Development. I serve as CO-PI for ACE IT, a three year HRSA grant with Dr. Cheryl Hyde, Dr. Marsha Zibalese-Crawford and Shirley Moy, director of the CSPCD. This grant provides mental health services to at-risk youth through advanced clinical social work training. I will train and supervise 93 students (31 per year ) over 3 years who will earn stipends of $10,000 per year. In collaboration with Pennsylvania Society of Clinical Social Work and Dr. Claudia DeWane, I presented part II of a certification CE course for LCSW supervisors. This course included 5 hours of ethics in addition to standards of supervision and clinical training. Other initiatives are being pursued in clinical practice, including post-masters certification in Trauma therapy, hospital social work and advanced clinical social work for special populations. I was promoted to Assistant Professor and nominated for the Lindback Award for teaching excellence. I received merits points for service and outstanding teaching evaluations. Temple University Adjunct Professor 2004-2008 Philadelphia, PA School of Social Administration Assisted in developing Temple s first Clinical Practice class for second year MSW students. Referral sources include Guidance Counselors, Student Assistance Counselors, colleagues, psychiatrists, family physicians and prior patients. The relationship with Hamilton and West Windsor schools continues to grow through periodic workshops and presentations focusing on behavior management and family interaction. CPC Behavioral Healthcare Intensive Therapeutic Clinician 1994-1997 Freehold and Red Bank, NJ Crisis Intervention Specialist Monmouth County Youth Case Manager Full service Community Mental Health Agency serving all socioeconomic levels and cultures within the service area. Beginning as the Youth Case Manager, then Crisis Intervention Specialist, interfaced with local CCIS units at Monmouth Medical Center, UMDNJ, and out-of-state facilities. Worked closely with the clinical staff and CART to provide wrap-around services as needed. Crisis referrals up to 20 per week. As Intensive Therapeutic Clinician, reintegrated children returning to the community following long-term in-patient treatment at UMDNJ, Arthur Brisbane CTC and Kids Peace among other facilities. Daily work included parent retraining and coping skills to address the needs of these special children. Families were seen in the home, often on a daily basis. Working with schools and psychiatrists was essential. Additional responsibilities included working with Monmouth County Courts through Project ACT. Assessments of youthful offenders were conducted at the Monmouth County Youth Detention Center, providing reports to the court for retention evaluation and sentencing. Family Service of Burlington County Clinical Social Worker 1993-1995 Mt. Holly, NJ Group, family and individual therapist within a full service mental health agency. Intake and assessment specialist, treating abused children and abusive parents. Discharge planning, supervising aides, program planning and reporting to DYFS and Family Court. Treatment included in-home intensive therapy in addition to the partial care program. Jewish Family Service Clinical Psychologist 1974-1976 Jenkintown, PA Second year residency at a full service mental health facility which evolved into a full time position. Patients referred through courts, schools and community facilities. Treatment modalities included individual, couples and groups. Agency placed emphasis on working with recent immigrants experiencing difficulty adjusting to American culture.
