Erasmus University College Erasmus University College Brussels has more than 4500 students and consists of six departments with about 20 areas of study. The main teaching language is Dutch. Some departments offer English courses. We offer a student-oriented approach through intense tutoring. 2
Erasmus University College The Erasmus University College Brussels has a pluralistic and humanistic mission. This implies that every single programme or single research is related to society. The university college is strongly embedded in its environment and in particular in Brussels, a unique metropolitan laboratory. 3
Erasmus University College There are 24 bachelor s (19 professional oriented and 5 academic) and 11 master s degree programmes. In addition, the university college offers several continuing education, post-graduate and post-doctoral research programmes. 4

Brussels University Association Together with the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, in 2003 Erasmus University College Brussels created the Brussels University Association. The Brussels University Association has 13,500 students 3500 staff 55 bachelors 107 masters 11 post-graduate programmes 9
Innovation All departments are involved in the restructuring processes of educational innovation. ICTbased teaching and learning, modularisation and problembased teaching are some of these on-going processes. Erasmus University College Brussels uses the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), which facilitates both curriculum comparison and student exchanges. 10

Research Most research in Flemish university colleges is of a more applied and practical nature than in universities, as programmes in colleges are more practice-oriented than those of universities. Internationalisation The Erasmus University College Brussels (EhB) supports European cooperation in education and research, and is for this reason member of several European networks. Student mobility is seen as the major tool for the development of competences and knowledge. Erasmus University College Brussels is coordinating the EMECW with Central Asia (Lot 9) and is partner in the EMECW with Asia (Lot 11) and Latin America (Lot 15 and 17) 13

Brussels Brussels is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. Brussels is the Headquarters of the European Commission, the European Council, the European Parliament, the Committee of the Regions and the European Economic and Social Committee. The city also hosts NATO and more than 120 international governmental organisations and approximately 1400 non-governmental organisations. With 159 embassies and 2500 diplomats Brussels ranks second in the world in terms of diplomatic representations. 15
Brussels Brussels is also a green city region. It has far more green areas than the other major European cities. Parks, woods, the Forêt de Soignes, private gardens, cemeteries, sports fields, etc. cover a total of over 8,000 hectares of green areas, that is half the Region s surface. Brussels is an important city of the arts as well, with numerous musea, (movie) theaters, concert halls, clubs, art galleries, design and antiques shops, etc. 16
Student Life Brussels has a rich student life. The Erasmus University College Brussels adds to this by offering the students a solid social web. EhB offers student facilities like housing, restaurants, sports facilities, events, and coaching. Our own students pub was recently opened, with every Tuesday an international students night. 17
