The Learning Center overview As part of our drive to simplify the way partners engage with HP, a new learning management system for HP Partners has been launched. Here are some key things to know about the new learning management system: The learning management system is globally branded as The HP Learning Center Launch directly from the HP Partner Portal using your HP Passport account Consolidates all web, instructor led, certification, exam and qualification training offers into a single application Full search, browse and reporting capability help you easily find what you need Additional benefits include: Single-sign-on via HP Partner Portal eliminates the multiple login/password combinations partners use today to access training programs from HP. Real time reporting of individual training and certification accomplishment you can see what courses you have taken, still need to complete, progress against learning plans or certification attainment. Access to exactly the kind of training you need through the creation of learning curricula based on Job role (sales, pre-sales, technical integration, service support) Experience level (getting started, building skills, NPI, specialized) Technology family (Servers, Storage, Printers, Desktops, etc.) A simplified view to track exactly where you or individuals in your organization are within a given curriculum, certification or qualification path with intuitive gap analysis to identify what needs to be done next. Managers within partner branches can assign learning plans, curricula or qualifications to their employees, and can track, on-line, in real time, how their employees are progressing. Please note that this completely replaces HP Software University. Your transcripts can be migrated from HP Software University to The Learning Center. 7

Accessing The Learning Center You can access The Learning Center through the HP Partner Portal. Once in the portal, click Train & Certify in the left navigation menu, and then click the Access The Learning Center link under Quick Links to continue into The Learning Center. If you are able to log in to The Learning Center, but you are not able to see any of the software related courses or assets, please contact your HP Partner Business Manager or HP Partner Account Manager. Links to expect At times, you may receive a link to a specific course or asset within The Learning Center. The URL should begin with http://h20507.www2.hp.com/. If the URL begins with http://grow.hp.com/, this URL is designed for internal HP employees, and it will not work outside of the HP network. Please ask the originator of the communication for the partner URL to the course. If the URL begins with http://h30349.www3.hp.com/, this will point to HP Software University, and is no longer valid. Your Learner ID An HP Learner ID is your key to the world of HP partner learning and certification. This ID is required to register for any exams or when there is a need to move your personal partner learning history from a former employer to a present employer. Once you have registered on the portal and have access to The Learning Center, you will have access to your Learner ID. To retrieve your Learner ID: 1. Click on the Train & Certify link on the left navigation bar 2. Under the Quick links section, click on Access The Learning Center link 3. Once in the Learning Center, click on the My profile tab. 4. Your HP Learner ID will be listed in the top section on the resulting page. 8

The Learning Center access instructions Gaining access to The Learning Center is a two-step process. Step 1: Register for an account on the HP Partner Portal Before you begin: 1. In EMEA, the HP Partner Portal is called HP Smart Portal. 2. If you already have an account on Partner Central, you still need to register for the HP Partner Portal. Partner Central is different from the HP Partner Portal. The first time you go to the HP Partner Portal, you should NOT use your HP Passport ID to login, but rather indicate you want to register for a new account. 3. When you are registering and creating the account, you should enter the same user ID, password, AND e-mail address that is linked to your Partner Central and HP Passport account (as opposed to creating a new User ID and password) and this will link the accounts together. When creating an account on the HP Partner Portal, it will create an HP Passport for you automatically. If you already have an HP Passport account set up, such as through Partner Central, PLEASE use the same ID, password, and e-mail address. This will ensure you have only one HP Passport, and will avoid confusion and issues later on. To register for the HP Partner Portal, you need to register on your regional partner portal. Please use the region that is appropriate for you. These regional links can be found here: http://h10120.www1.hp.com/partnerlearning/partner_portal_access.html Once you are on your regional partner portal, click on Register, and you will be walked through the process to register for an account. When you are asked if you work for an HP partner and want to register for this portal for the first time, please answer Yes. In North America, choose Option A. Figure 5. HP Smart Portal 9

During the registration process, you will need to know information about your company to complete the registration. Region North America (US and Canada) Company information needed Location ID If you do not know this information about your company, please contact the program administrator within your company that is responsible for the HP portal. As a second option, please contact your HP Partner Business Manager. Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) This will vary by country Typically, a company name and address will be required. For other countries, a Tax ID will be required. Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) HP Location ID or Company Name and Address Your Location ID is a unique number for each of your company locations that HP has on file, that can be used to expedite you registration. It is an 8 digit numeric reference number that allows us to easily identify the company location that you work for and wish to be registered against. If you do not know your HP Location ID, continue the registration by clicking the Register without HP Location ID button where your company name and address can be used. Latin America Company Name and Address Figure 6. Company selection link Please select your company from the list. If you are unable to locate your company, please do not continue. Contact your HP Partner Business Manager or Partner Account manager and inform them that your company is not in the list. Once you register, a notification will be sent to the administrator within your company that is responsible for the HP portal. In all regions except North America, this person must approve your registration before you can continue. This approval process may mean a slight delay in your registration as this person approves your request. You will NOT receive an e-mail confirmation when your request is approved. In North America, this person has the right to reject your registration. However, you will have access to the portal immediately. If you have any problems with creating an account on your regional partner portal, please click the Contact HP link in the upper left corner of the page to submit a help ticket. This will ensure your request is routed to the appropriate team in your region. 10

Step 2: Associate your account on The Learning Center First, you will need to login to the HP Partner Portal. Once there, click on the Train & Certify link in the left navigation menu Figure 7. Train and Certify link You will then be asked if you have previously used HP Software University or have certification history at HP University. Figure 8. Partners with previous partner training history If you have previously used HP Software University, or if you have certifications with HP University, choose Option 1. 11

If you have used HP Software University within the past 12 months, you should have received a code that begins with SU in an e-mail from HP. You can transfer either your HP Software University learning history (transcripts of the courses you have taken) OR you can transfer your certification history. Please choose what is more important to you as you cannot choose both. If you want to transfer your HP Software University learning history, please enter the code beginning with SU_. By doing this, you will associate The Learning Center with your course transcripts. If you want to transfer your certification information, please enter your HP Student ID from the previous system and add a UV Prefix. By doing this, you will associate the Learning Center with your certifications. Example: HP Student ID: 0001234567 = HP Learner ID: UV0001234567 If you have not previously used HP Software University, choose Option 2. Follow the directions to create the account within the Learning Center. You must accept the Terms and Conditions for this process to complete. If an error message is displayed, such as a Page Not Found, when you are trying to accept the Terms and Conditions, please close the browser, delete cookies and clear the browser cache. Also, under internet options, please enable all of the java add-ins (anything with the ssv.dll). Then restart the browser and try again. At this point, it will take up to three business days for you to gain access to The Learning Center. Please note that you will not receive any notification when access is granted. You will need to manually login to the portal and click on Train & Certify to determine your status. 12
