1. Introduction This is an introduction to how to create and modify dashboards. 2. What you need before you start Before you start you need to have the GADD Dashboard Express that includes the GADD Dashboards Builder. You can e.g. download the trial version from gaddsoftware.com. It includes dashboard samples and also sample data source using MS Access and MS Excel. It will start with displaying an introduction. 3.1. Open dashboard Example 1 Open the first dashboard, Example dashboard 1. Click on Open and open dashboard file: C:\Users\Public\Documents\GADD Dashboard 1.3\DashboardWeb\App_Data\Dashboards\Samples\QS011_example_1.xml GADD Software AB 3 (10)

3.2. Example 1 3.2.1. Instruction in the right-hand panel Try the functions defined in the: Description, Easy Actions and Advanced Actions. Video session 3 uses example 1. The pie and grid are connected via master filter. Data comes from GADD_EX_A_EXCEL_1.xlsx, located in the data folder. Columns from the file are available in the tree on the left. Easy Actions: Click on a slice in the Pie to show the grid data for the specific payment type. Click on a row in the Grid to show the distribution of payment types in the selected city. Click the filter cross icon in the top right corner of an element to clear its selection filter. Use the Design menu to change layout & design. Click on View in Browser. (First time view takes a couple of seconds extra.) Advanced Actions: Use the Data menu to edit filter options. Select the grid and change data items by drag and drop. Click on the symbol to the right of a data item to use it as a Dimension, Measure, Delta, Sparkline etc. Hoover a data item and click the arrow to change format and aggregation method. 4. 5. Menus 5.1. Home New, Save and Open dashboard files. Pivot, Grid, Chart, Pies, Gauges, Cards, Maps, Range Filter, Image and Text box are elements to use in the dashboard. Convert To is useful when you want to connect e.g. to another element. E.g. convert from grid to chart, card etc. Title to define a title for the dashboard. Preview to display the dashboard in a windows form. View in browser to display the dashboard in your web browser. Settings to define client filter that steer what data is retrieved from the database to the dashboard. Help to go to the GADD Software help and learning site. 5.2. Data Source Create new connection to data source; SQL Server, Oracle, MS Access etc. Note that you need the db provider to be installed if you use e.g. Oracle, ProgreSQL or other 3rd party db. Edit connection query. Select tables, views, columns available via the connection query. Define joins and alias. Add Calculated Filed and Parameters. Edit Filter to define a filter that user of dashboard cannot change. 5.3. Data The Data menu has different options depending on the element type. Common options are: Edit Filter for element. Defined single or multiple master filter, drill down for elements. 5.4. Design The Design menu has different options depending on the element type. GADD Software AB 6 (10)

6. Miscellaneous 6.1. Format field Format how the data is displayed in the element. 6.2. Delta The delta function is quite useful. 6.3. Master filter Master filter is an important feature to make filtering in one element apply for other elements in the dashboard. GADD Software AB 7 (10)

6.4. Settings, Client Filter Settings to define client filter that steer what data is retrieved from the database to the dashboard. 6.5. Client filter when dashboard is used via web browser The parameter you define via the Client Filter will be available for the user via the web browser. GADD Software AB 8 (10)

6.6. Calculated Field With calculated field you can create a new field based on the existing and using advanced functions. 6.7. Data Source Filter With the Data Source Filter you can define a filter that applies to the data source. It will steer what data is retrieved into the dashboard. 6.8. Data Edit Filter The Data Edit Filter belongs to the element, e.g. a grid of pie, and only apply for the element. GADD Software AB 9 (10)

6.9. Data source A dashboard can have one or several data sources. GADD Software AB 10 (10)
