Mikael Andersson Mikael is currently Head of Press and Public Affairs at Lernia AB in Sweden. Lernia is a state owned company and one of Sweden s largest VET providers. As a representative of Lernia Mikael is a member of the steering committee of the European Vocational and Training Association, EVTA. He is also CEO at Tretton2 AB, a Swedish consulting company. Mikael has an earlier career as Head of Programming at the Swedish Educational Broadcasting Company, Expert at the Swedish Ministry of Education and the Nordic Council of Ministers, as well as Head of Development at two national agencies for distance education and flexible learning. James Calleja Mr James Calleja, Director of the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop), has been involved in vocational training since 2001. He formerly served as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Employment in his native Malta. In 2005 he was entrusted with the setting up of the Malta Qualifications Council where he served as Chief Executive. He holds degrees from the Universities of Malta, Padua and Bradford and has published books and articles and edited various publications. He is the co-author of the Malta Referencing Report of the Malta Qualifications Framework to the EQF and the QF-EHEA. DANA-CARMEN BACHMANN Dana Bachmann is Head of Vocational training and adult education; Erasmus+ Unit at the Directorate-General for Education and Culture of the European Commission. She is responsible for vocational education and training and adult learning policy. In the past, she worked as a lawyer at the European Court of Human Rights and she managed diverse projects in the field of environmental law in Central and Eastern Europe. Daniel Calleja Crespo Daniel Calleja Crespo is the Director-General for Enterprise and Industry of the European Commission since February 2012. He is the Special Envoy for SMEs. Since February 2011 as a Deputy Director-General he was in charge of internal markets for goods, competitiveness and innovation, SMEs and entrepreneurship, international negotiations and tourism. He was Director for Air Transport at the European Commission from November 2004 to February 2011, in charge of the single European aviation market and its external dimension. He has successfully negotiated, on behalf of the E.U., the EU-US Open Skies Agreement. M. Calleja is the author of several publications. He has lectured in European Law in several universities and institutes of various Member States. Mr Calleja has a degree in Law and in Business Administration from the University of Comillas, Madrid. SIMON BROWN Liz Carroll Currently P/T Head of Enterprise Development for the National Centre for Entrepreneurship Education. Responsible for supporting the ERDF programme NW Enterprise Champions, developing entrepreneurship programmes for enterprise educators, delivering training to students and graduates. Currently Independent consultant designing and delivering programmes for entrepreneurs in the UK and Africa. External Examiner and advisor for Entrepreneurship MBAs in the UK. Previously Director of Southampton Business School, Chair of Enterprise Educators UK, Director of the E3I CETL and active lecturer Liz Carroll is Training and Development Manager for ISME, where she is responsible for providing relevant, quality assured, training and development opportunities for ISME members, and SMEs in general, and for offering advice to members in the areas of training, mentoring and development. She has over 25 years experience in Training and Development working with all levels of learner from early school leavers to MSc level. She has a PGDip. Teaching & Learning, MBA, MA Film and TV Studies, BA in Communications.

Maxime Cerutti Maxime Cerutti joined BUSINESSEUROPE as adviser in November 2007 and was appointed Director of BUSINESSEUROPE s social affairs department in January 2012. He is in charge of a diverse portfolio of social affairs and labour market policy issues as well as the dayto-day management of the department. Prior to joining BUSINESSEUROPE, Maxime worked as a policy officer at the European Youth Forum. He started his professional career with a six-month internship at the French ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris. Maxime Cerutti has a background in European law and political science. His mother tongue is French. Bettine Gola Adviser at EUROCHAMBRES, the Association of European Chamber of Commerce and Industry, since 2013, Bettine Gola works on issues related to education and training. After having majored in European politics from the Universities of Strasbourg and Frankfurt Oder, she started her career in Brussels as a trainee at the European Commission and an adviser at the regional representation of Alsace Region towards the European institutions. Peter Faross Peter Faross was appointed as UEAPME Secretary General by the General Assembly on 29 November 2013, to take office as from January 2014. He studied law and political science and worked for the European Commission for about 30 years. In 1991, he was promoted Head of Sector (Energy and Environment) before becoming Head of Unit in 1993 responsible for the Functioning of the Internal Market. Subsequent posts until 2008 as Head of Unit included the areas on General Policy, General policy and inter-institutional relations, Economic regulation in air transport, Services of general economic interest, users rights and infringements. Since 2008, Mr. Faross was Director of the Nuclear Safety and Fuel Cycle Directorate in Luxemburg and acting Deputy Director General for Nuclear Energy since 2010. Claire Hery French High Business School Degree in 1993 (Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Reims). More than 20 years as Human Resources in Telecoms (British Telecom and SFR-Cegetel) and Retail environment (IKEA). 2,5 years as Store Manager IKEA before joining SEPUR. Claire Hery was hired by Sepur in March 2013 as HR Director. Mrs Hery is 45 years old. Pierre Mairesse Pierre Mairesse is responsible in the European Commission for issues related to Education and Training, that affect all sectors of education systems in EU Member States (general education, vocational training, higher education, adult education, etc.). These include the role of education and training in the Europe 2020 strategy for growth and jobs, organisation and implementation of the coordination between Member States, development of skills strategies, a European agenda for opening up education through new technologies, the social role of education and training, multilingualism and tools for a better understanding of education systems in Europe. An engineer by profession, Pierre Mairesse has been working in various areas in the European Commission including: information technology and telecommunications, culture, youth, sport, education and training. Elina Oksanen-Ylikoski Elina Oksanen-Ylikoski, Ph.D. (Econ.), works as Communication and Development Director of InnoOmnia, a development unit of Omnia, which is a joint authority of education in Espoo region in Finland. She is a member of several steering groups in various EU- and nationally funded development projects focusing on innovative learning environments for vocational students and start-ups. Her work experience includes development of corporate services at the Helsinki School of Economics and Aalto University; planning and implementation of BBA-level Degree Program of Professional Sales at the Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences; teaching and development projects in sales area as well as market research and marketing experience at the Finnish Direct Marketing Association. She is also one of the founding members of the Global Sales Science Institute (GSSsi). David Martinez Head of Human Resources & General Affairs Hyundai Motor Europe GmbH, David is currently working for Hyundai Motor Europe as Head of Human Resources and General Affairs with the responsibility to establish European HR process and systems aligned with the HR Global Strategy. He is responsible for coordinating the Pan-European CSR activities for Hyundai in Europe. Graduated in International Business Law from the University of Law of Aix en Provence in 1995, he started his career in the automotive industry in France in 1997 with Inchcape France as Legal Affairs Manager, responsible for corporate legal issues and M&A operations. In 2001 he joined the newly established Mazda subsidiary in France and was appointed Legal Affairs, HR & GA Director for Mazda in France in January 2002. In 2008, he joined the European Headquarter of Mazda in Germany as International Service Manager in charge of developing and implementing a European expatriate program. In 2010 in took regional HR responsibilities for South of Europe in charge of France, The Netherlands and Benelux before joining Hyundai in February 2011. Jigar Patel Jigar Patel, Principal in McKinsey & Company s London Office Background: Jigar Patel is a Principal in McKinsey and Company s London Office. Jigar is a leader in the Sales and Channels Service line, and serves a number of clients in high-tech, pharmaceuticals and telecom industries. He is also a member of the Global Education Service line and led the research team which published Education to Employment: Getting Europe s Youth Back To Work. Prior to McKinsey Jigar completed a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and started his own Web Design company. Samuel Mühlemann Samuel Mühlemann is a Professor for Human Resource Education and Development at the University of Munich. Previously he was the deputy head of the Centre for Research in Economics of Education and a lecturer at the Department of Economics at the University of Bern. In 2013/14 he was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley (Institute for Research on Labor and Employment), and in 2009 he was a visiting academic at King s College London. He is a research fellow at IZA Bonn and a member of the Swiss Federal Committee for Child and Youth Affairs (2012-2014). He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Bern in 2008. Salvatore Pirrone Before being appointed as General Director of the Italian Ministry of Labour and Social Policies (General Direction for Active and Passive policies) Salvatore Pirrone has been working from 2008 to Jan. 2013, as head of Unit at the Italian National Social Security Institute (INPS), mainly working on unemployment benefits and contribution collection. In 2012, he has been involved in the expert group nominated by the former labour Minister to draft the Italian labour market reform nr. 92/2012, that entered officially into force since July 2012. Prior to joining the INPS, he has carried out a professional experience at the Presidency of the Minister s Council, in direct cooperation with the State Undersecretary, for the activities relating to social security and social contributions and managing public relations with other relevant authorities. In 2007 he directed the office in charge for the monitoring of the labour market observatory at the Italian Ministry of Labour. In the meantime, he was member of a number of EU committees in the field of labour market (Employment Committee, OECD Working Party on Employment, Eurostat Labour Market Policies working group). Mr Pirrone is author of a number of books and articles about labour market reforms in Italy, with a particular focus on unemployment benefits, employment incentives, social security, European employment strategies and public employment services.

Xavier prats Monné Luke Shore Xavier Prats Monné is the Director-general for Education and Culture of the European Commission. Since 2011 as Deputy Director-general, he has been responsible for EU policies in the field of education and training, and for the EU education programmes for 2014-2020 period, including Erasmus+ and Marie Sklodowska Curie. Since August 2014, as Director-general, he is also responsible for EU policies in the field of culture, youth and sports, and for the Creative Europe programme. He represents the European Commission on the Governing Board of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). From 2007 to 2010 he served as Director for employment policy, and as one of the five founding members of the EU Impact Assessment Board, reporting to the President of the European Commission. Luke Shore (17) is a Board member of the Organising Bureau of European School Student Unions (OBESSU), the platform which unites the national school student unions active in general secondary and vocational education in Europe; founded in Dublin in 1975, it brings together Member and Candidate organisations from more than 20 European countries. Before OBESSU, Luke was Director of the British school student union StudentVoice and ran a national campaign for the democratisation of British education. He now lives and works in London. He completed his primary and secondary education at the Istituto Massimo of Rome, Italy. He holds degrees in Sociology from the Universidad Complutense (Madrid, Spain); in Development Cooperation from the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM; Paris, France); and in European Studies from the College of europe (Bruges, Belgium), where he graduated first of the Class of 1981-82 and served as assistant professor. He is from Spain, fluent in Spanish, English, French, Italian and Catalan. Mahamouda Salouhou Dr. Mahamouda Salouhou, PhD, Director of the European Center for Leadership and Entrepreneurship Education (ECLEE), He is a professor of leadership, cultural diversity, and international business in several universities (Europe and North America). He is also a member of the Lean Advancement Initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he participates in the Lean Healthcare Working Group. Throughout the past years, Dr. Mahamouda Salouhou has created curriculum and certificate programs in different disciplines. He is currently focusing on developing ECLEE s International Mobility, STEM Plus, and workforce development programs. Dr. Mahamouda Salouhou current work focus on International Mobility for Employment, Modeling the STEM program for high school students in Europe, North America and Africa. Learning, Training for the Employability of all. Alfredo Silva Alfredo Silva, a Portuguese national, has been working for the Nestlé Group since 1978. He began at Nestlé Portugal as a Chemical Engineer, holding various roles as Head of Manufacturing, Production Manager, Factory Manager for different categories of products (in Portugal, Spain and France). In 1996, he was appointed Head of Human Resources/ Corporate Affairs/Centre Administration at Nestlé Portugal. In 2005, Alfredo moved to Nestlé Headquarters in Switzerland where he is assuming the role of Head of HR Zone Europe. In close partnership with the Zone Europe Management, Alfredo provides HR leadership to the Markets promoting Nestlé in the Zone Europe; he is actively involved in organisational design, change management, talent and performance management and regularly engaged in dialogue with the Nestlé European Council for Information and Consultation. Alfredo holds different training programs in particular in leadership, mentoring and coach certification. In his role as the ambassador of The Nestlé needs Youth Initiative, Alfredo has been participating regularly since the beginning to various EU roundtables. JoÃo Santos João Santos is currently Deputy Head of Unit in the Directorate general for Education and Culture at the European Commission, in Brussels. The Unit is responsible for Vocational Education and Training, adult education, and the Erasmus programme in these policy fields. He has previously worked at the Directorate general for Employment and Social Affairs. As the coordinator of a geographical desk, he was involved in the negotiations on the EU structural polices supported by the European Social Fund. His responsibilities included the Employment chapter of the Lisbon Strategy for growth and jobs, and the Strategy on Social Protection and Social Inclusion. In the same DG he worked on international relations covering the employment and social affairs dimension of the EU bilateral cooperation with China, the USA, and Canada, as well as on multilateral cooperation within the United Nations framework, on issues related to the Social Dimension of Globalization and the Decent work Agenda. From 2009 to 2013 he was posted at the EU Delegation to China and Mongolia as a diplomatic Counsellor. AntÓniO Silva mendes Since March 2012, António Silva Mendes has been Director for Education and vocational training; Coordination of Erasmus+ at the Directorate-General for Education and Culture of the European Commission. He is responsible for the policies and the programme in the fields of school and adult education, vocational training as well as the general coordination of the Erasmus+ implementation. Of Portuguese nationality, he studied mechanical engineering at the University of Lisbon and was professor at the same University for 10 years. Then he became director at the Ministry of Industry in Lisbon. He began his career at the European Commission in 1990 in DG Enterprise, where he took part in international negotiations in the field of the industrial policy and contributed to the promotion of European industrial competitiveness. He was appointed Head of Unit in the Social policy unit in DG Human Resources. In 2003, he headed the Pensions unit, before joining DG Education & Culture in April, 2006 as Director of Resources.

János SZILÁGYI Director of Education and Training of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2012, Dr. Szilágyi János manages and coordinates VET and tertiory education at national level. From 1995 to 2002 he was Director of Education at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Csongrád County. Education and Training: 1989-1992: Hungarian Academy of Science, Academic further education (ISCED 6) 1983: József Attila University (Szeged, Hungary), University PhD programme (ISCED 5) Androulla Vassiliou Androulla Vassiliou is currently European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth. Previously, she served as Commissioner for Health, from February 2008 to end 2009. Before her appointment to the European Commission, she was actively involved in politics in her home country, Cyprus. She was twice elected to the Cypriot House of Representatives where she was an active member of the European Affairs Committee and represented the Cyprus Parliament to the Convention for the future of Europe as an alternate member. She was active in the field of international affairs and human rights as a President of the UN Association of Cyprus from 1978 until 1992 and as President of the World Federation of UN Associations from 1991 until 1995. She was also President of the Cyprus Federation of Business and Professional Women from 1996 until 2000. Ms Vassiliou studied law and international affairs in London and practiced law in Cyprus for 20 years (1968-1988). In addition to Greek (her mother tongue) she is fluent in English and has a good knowledge of French. MAX UEBE Luca Visentini Mr Uebe has been Head of Unit in the European Commission s Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion since February 2012. He is responsible for Sectoral Employment Challenges, the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund, Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship, including Microfinance. He joined DG Enlargement after having spent more than 6 years in the Cabinets of Commissioners László Andor and Vladimír Špidla (both Commissioners for Employment and Social Affairs), where his portfolio contained labour law, pensions, social dialogue, relations with the Member States, infringements as well as competition and internal market. He played a key role in negotiations on Community legislation such as on working time, posted workers and agency workers. Luca Visentini was born in 1969. He studied philosophy at the University of Trieste. He started his trade union activities by joining UIL Youth (Italian Union of Workers) in 1988. He became the Regional General Secretary of UILTUCS, the Italian Union of Workers in Tourism, Trade and Services in 1989. In 1996 he took on the position of General Secretary of Confederation UIL in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. In 1997 he became the President of the IRTUC Interregional Trade Union Council between the trade unions of Italy and Croatia. In this capacity, he was a member, and then Vice President, of the IRTUC Coordination Committee within the ETUC. He is currently Confederal Secretary at the ETUC, having been elected to this post at the ETUC Athens Congress in 2011. Rene Van SchalkwIJk Drs R.W.F. van Schalkwijk MscBA MME (1953 Amsterdam) Master degrees in economics and business administration (1972-1978)and management in Education(2004-2005) Economic research and management consultant for small and medium size companies and municipalities and HRM manager.(1983-2000) Board member Horizon College (secondary VET) Alkmaar the Netherlands (2000-present) President of the European association of VET providers 2008- present (president as of 2014) Martin Watson Martin Watson designs and delivers multi-stakeholder strategies for government, business and civil society alike, helping clients successfully combine foresight, research and strategy with senior management and project implementation. Martin has worked with a plethora of international organisations, in education and training, development aid, intellectual property, trade negotiations, and environmental policies. He has facilitated numerous large and high- level engagement events and processes for clients such as the European Commission, the European Environment Agency, the Fundamental Rights Agency of the EU, and the European Training Foundation.

Richard Weber Dr Richard Weber, born 1944 in Zweibrücken in Germany, is the President of EUROCHAMBRES, the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry. An entrepreneur himself, he has been the executive associate of the Karlsberg Brauerei KG Weber, a brewery in Homburg/Saar, since 1983. Mr Weber is also the president of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of the Saarland, Saarbrücken and a former president of the European Association of beer brewers Brewers of Europe (1992-1996). After completing his studies in economics at the University of Munich and Innsbruck, he started his career at BSN (today Danone) in Paris. Since 2004, Richard Weber holds the French order of merit (Chevalier de la Légion d Honneur) and since 2005 the Officer s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. Rasa Zygmantaite Ms Rasa Zygmantaite, secretary of EfVET and Head of International Studies and Relations Department at Marijampoles Kolegija, Lithuania. She is an international expert in VET with specific experience of development and reforming the system across the EU, including implementation of ECVET, EQAVET, ECTS, and EAFA. She holds a Master s degree in English Philology from Vilnius University (1983) and Master s degree in economies, business management and administration from Kaunas Vytautas Magnus University (2009), where the field of her research was development of VET management in post-communist economy with focus on improving the system through collaboration with local businesses and internationalization. At present she is working on a PhD thesis in synergy of business and professional education.
