How to apply for Admission Prospectus along with a secret key can be had from the concerned Centre Coordinator on payment of Rs.500/- through Mahatma Gandhi University Pay-in-Slip exclusively for SDE A/c. No for centres in India and US$ 50 for international centres in favour of the Finance Officer, Mahatma Gandhi University payable at SBT MGU Campus Branch, Code No The applicants for MBA/MCA have to pass the entrance test conducted by the University. Application for the entrance test for MBA and MCA can be had from the Centre Co-ordinators on payment of Rs.100/- by SBT MGU Payinslip as above and for centres abroad DD drawn in favour of Finance Officer, M.G.University (US$10). Create an account through MGU official website ( using the application number and secret key and register online. Take a print out of the online registration form. Submit these printout along with original documents and Pay-in-slip/DD as the case may be towards course fee (see item No. 6 below) at the Centre. *Application form should be supported by the following certificates: 1. SSLC/Equivalent examination (Attested true copy) 2. Qualifying Degree Certificate and mark-list in the case of Graduates and qualifying Pass Certificate and mark list in the case of students who have completed Pre-Degree/Higher Secondary. 3. Transfer Certificate, Course and Conduct Certificate from the institution last studied. 4. Migration certificate (if needed). 5. Community Certificate from competent authority in the case of student belonging to backward classes. 6. Pay-in-slip/Demand Draft towards course fee. Admission to all courses is based on the eligibility criteria stipulated by the University. For admission to MBA and MCA courses, the students have to pass the entrance test. Those who are awaiting the results of the qualifying examination can also apply but the results should be ready before the selection process is completed. Applications which complete in all respects will be processed by the University and admission cards will be issued to each student through the Centre Co-ordinator. Students who have passed their qualifying examination from Universities other than Mahatma Gandhi University should apply for matriculation. Applicants possessing qualifications from Universities/Institutions

6 other than Universities in Kerala should apply for recognition. The applications for matriculation/recognition are also provided along with the application form. NO SEPARATE FEE IS TO BE REMITTED BY THEM. Candidates possessing qualifications from other Universities should also produce Migration Certificates/No Objection Certificates from the Universities or other Boards of Examinations. ii. The Centre Co-ordinator shall satisfy himself that admission is given only to those applicants who possess prescribed minimum qualifications, which are recognized by this University. He will attest the application for matriculation/recognition. The University bears no responsibility in case of any admission without the required minimum qualifications. The centre shall be liable for any such claims with regard to the irregular admission made by the centre. iii. Students who have passed courses run by the Boards/Universities of foreign countries should submit an eligibility certificate from M.G University at the time of admission iv. Students who have passed courses run by the Boards/Universities of foreign countries where migration certificates are not issued by the Boards/Universities, a certificate from the concerned Boards/Universities should be submitted to the effect that they do not follow the procedure of issuing migration certificates. This certificate should be attested by the Indian Embassy concerned. v. Students who have passed courses run by the Boards/Universities of foreign countries where transfer certificates are not issued by the institutions, the students should produce a document in the form prescribed by the University from the institution last studied. In the case of private candidates from a foreign University/Board the document should be attested by the Indian Embassy concerned. vi. Students who posses certificates from the Universities/Boards Outside Kerala where TCs are not issued, students should produce Course Leaving Certificate instead of T.C. A seal shall be affixed on the reverse of the certificate showing the details of the Registration. vii. Entrance examination will be conducted for admission to MBA, MCA. viii. The admission card of candidates appearing for the entrance will be issued to the Centre Co-ordinators for distribution to the students. 4. Re-admission Procedure Those students who seek re-admission to courses shall approach the Off campus centre concerned with all relevant documents and mark lists and provide all details as if they are admitted afresh. The off campus centre shall upload the details online after verification of documents. Students shall remit course fee at the centre and prescribed the fee for readmission at the university. 5. Mode of Payment of Fees The prescribed fees shall be remitted at any SBT through MGU Pay-in-slip Exclusively for School of Distance Education individual Pay-in-slip A/c.No The University s share (50% of the fee specified in Table-1) should remitted to the University

7 and the remaining 50% in favour of the Centre. Tuition fees of the candidates whose applications are rejected will be sent back to the Centre. The course fee for II and III year (as shown in Table No.1) should be remitted in lump on or before 19 th August of the year. The candidate who fail to remit the course fee within the scheduled date will be removed from the rolls without further notice. But they can get readmission after paying prescribed fee as per rules. The Off campus Centres concerned shall compulsorily issue fee receipt for course fee and keep registers for the same. 6. Syllabus and Scheme of Examination The University shall have the exclusive right to prescribe the syllabus for the courses of study for each year and to prescribe the scheme of examination. The University reserves the right to change/modify/alter the syllabi at any time and conduct the examination accordingly. 7.Course Material University will try to supply the study materials [except for M.A (Multimedia) & Bachelor of Fashion Technology, Part II (Additional Languages] to candidates, through the Centres. University reserves right to deliver study material in electronic format in case of exigency. University is not supplying text books for Part I English & Part II Additional Languages of UG Courses. Name of text books prescribed for Part I & II of UG Courses are available in the List of Text Books (Model I) published by the University. 8.Conduct of Classes, Seminars The classes for the students will be arranged and conducted at the Centre. In conducting such programmes, the relevant provision in the University Regulations shall be followed. The University may arrange common seminars, if required, at selected Centres. The students and other faculty members participating in the seminars will have to bear their expenses. 9.Languages permitted under Part II For B.Com, Hindi/Malayalam/French/Tamil/Special English (any one subject) to be selected as Additional Language. 10. Conduct of Examinations The University will conduct examinations at the Centres notified by the University. To be eligible to appear at annual examination in any course, a candidate is required to fulfill the following conditions: i. Full payment of course fee for the year. ii. 75% of the prescribed attendance iii. Submission/completion of Project Report, Dissertation and Practicals within the specified date. Notification will be issued by the Controller of Examinations for the conduct of Examinations of the Off Campus Academic Programmes. Centre Co-ordinator shall arrange to collect sufficient number of examination application forms from the website and issue to the students. Students should remit Rs.25/- or US$ 5 as the case may be towards cost of application form along with exam fee. The Co-ordinator is also responsible to forward the filled in exam applications to the University before the last date for submission of application prescribed in the notification. It will be the duty of the students to receive hall tickets for the

8 examination from the Chief Superintendent of the exam Centre well in advance of the examination as per rules and procedure in this regard. iv. All matters relating to examinations, are under the direct supervision of the Controller of Examinations. 11.General Information i. Students are not permitted to do more than one course at a time. ii. Applications for the examination along with the required fee and all matters relating to examination including project reports should be forwarded to the Controller of Examinations through the Centre concerned. The time table, venue and other details of examinations will be communicated to the Concerned Centres /Student at the appropriate time. Hall tickets will be issued to the students through the Concerned Centre of the examination. Change of examination Centre will be permitted only in the case of candidates failed in the final examination. iii. Copies of result sheets and mark lists will be made available at the concerned Offcampus Centres by the Controller of Examinations. iv. Original Documents submitted along with the application for admission except TC, course and conduct certificate and Migration certificate will be returned to the Co-ordinator after verification. Students are advised to keep sufficient no. of photo copies of the documents with them before submitting the same to the Centre. v. Change of Centre of study will be allowed only in exceptional cases by the Director and with the concurrence of the concerned Centres on payment of the prescribed fees. The fee for transfer from foreign Centres to Indian Centre is US$ 50 and the fee for transfer from Centres in India to Foreign Centres and in between Centres in India is R.500/-. Application for inter center transfer will be entertained in the university only upto 31 st December every year. vi. All students, including those belonging to backward classes, are required to pay the fee in full at the time of admission. They will be permitted to receive the concessions from SC/ST Welfare Department as per rules in this regard. vii. Transfer Certificates and conduct Certificates will be issued by the Director on completion of the course if the Centre Co-ordinator recommends the issue of the same. viii. In the case of loss of original TC & CC already issued to the student, duplicate TC & CC can be obtained by (1) producing affidavit (2) Remitting Rs.30/- ix. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstance other than that mentioned at Guidelines in paragraph 4. x. If a candidate who has discontinued a course in a particular year seeks permission for re-admission in another year, he should apply with the recommendations of the Centre Co-ordinator as per the University rules. The Candidate should take the examination after readmission in current Scheme and Syllabus. He should also pay the re-admission fee prescribed by the University. Cancellation of the registration to a course can be made on the request of a candidate if the application for cancellation is recommended by the Centre Co-ordinator, students who wish to cancel the registration after first year exam should produce examination cancellation order from the Controller of Examinations. xi. The course fee for the II and III year as the case may be, should be remitted to the university on or before the date prescribed by the university at the appropriate time along with the prescribed from supplied. A fine of Rs.250/- for students in India and $ 10 for students abroad will have to be remitted if course fee is

9 received in the university after the prescribed date. However, the students will be removed from rolls if the fee is not remitted before the last date with fine prescribed. xii. The envelope must be superscripted with OFF CAMPUS EXAMINATION xiii. Complaints if any shall be lodged with the Vice-Chancellor of the University and his decision shall be final. Disputes if any shall be decided by the court of Law located at Kottayam or Ernakulam, Kerala. xiv. The Candidate who has enrolled for a particular course but could not register for the first year examination should take notional registration for the first year in the beginning of the next academic year. (ie. in the second year). Similarly those who have not registered for the IInd year examination should take notional registration for the IInd year (ie. in the IIIrd year). No notional registration is permissible for final year examination. xv. No candidate is allowed to appear for supplementary examination alone within the duration of the course for eg. a candidate who has failed in papers of I/II year is not allowed to register for these papers without registering for I/II year examination. xvi. No improvement/betterment is allowed for a paper already passed except for B.Com xvii. Automation Rs.150/- per student should be remitted from Academic year onwards and Rs.@50 /- per student may be levied for the subsequent years, USD 30/- and USD 10/- respectively for the students abroad.
