2 Objectives and Benefits The Singapore Sustainability Awards is an initiative of the Singapore Business Federation and comprises the Sustainable Business Awards (SBA) and the Green IT Awards. Inaugurated in 2009, the awards aim to recognize companies for their outstanding sustainable business and green IT practices. The attainment of long term sustainable development goals is an imperative that the Singapore business community must embrace to ensure continued success and a winning edge. Benefits 1. Gaining new insights into the adoption of sustainable business practices through participation 2. Feedback by local and international panel of judges 3. Benchmarking against other leading companies in sustainable business practices 4. Benefitting the brand image and positioning of the company with the growing worldwide attention on sustainability 5. 3 1 Green IT Awards 2011 Registration Form
4 2 Green IT Awards 2011 Registration Form & Questionnaire for Submission of Entry Inaugurated in 2010, the Singapore Green IT Awards aim to provide recognition to holistic green IT solutions, which meet the needs of the business, ecology and society. It is targeted to give recognition to Singapore based enterprises with outstanding sustainable IT practices. The objective is also to create a Green IT Adoption Index (GIAI) by which Singapore businesses can be evaluated in terms of their Green IT adoption. The awards are to be given in 2 categories: Large Enterprises, and Small and Medium Enterprises Please highlight how your organization has adopted Green IT, emphasizing the aspects of Green IT Implementation, Corporate Environment Responsibility, and Impact Measurement, through the following questionnaire. Kindly quote examples, illustrations and case studies (documents may be attached to the questionnaire) to support your response for the questions. Kindly note that the information provided in relation to this participation will be held confidential and used by the Green IT Awards Judging Committee throughout the judging process. 8 6 CORPORATE ENVIRONMENT RESPONSIBILITY Questions in this section shall help in understanding the extent to which environment responsibility has been incorporated in long term IT planning. TECHNOLOGY ADOPTION 1. Does your organization have a documented Green Information Technology Policy? 2. Does your organization have a Green data centers only policy? 3. Does your organization have a policy on employees use of IT in an energy efficient manner? 4. Does your organization have a formal End of IT life management (disposal etc) system? 5. Does your organization prefer hardware vendors that offer take-back options? 6. Does your organization have a formal practice for tracking of carbon emissions? 7. Does your organization have an allocated budget for Green IT in its IT budget? (Yes, if allocation greater than 5%) 8. 9 Connecting Businesses to Efficient, Eco-friendly Opportunities and Solutions About SBF Sustainable Development Business Group SBF Sustainable Development Business Group (SDBG) is formed as an interest group for member companies interested in adoption and/or commercialization of clean, efficient and green solutions spanning clean energy and sustainable development. It is to connect members to various industry verticals, technology partners, link them to business leads in the clean energy and sustainable development sector and facilitate them in tapping into available schemes, incentives, and sources for funding for their clean energy and sustainable development plans. SDBG will work with various organizations to facilitate members in their adoption or commercialization of clean and green solutions in areas such as Energy Efficiency, Green Building and Facilities Management, Environmental Management, Waste Recycling, Green IT & Data Centre, Sustainable Water Solutions, Sustainable Manufacturing and Sustainable Business Practices. Another Initiative of SDBG (Sustainable Development Business Group) of SBF actively promotes commercialization and adoption of clean energy and sustainable development.
