1 Overview This NOS sets out the skills, knowledge and understanding for you to replenish automated teller machines (ATMs). The NOS covers the following activities: 1. Prepare to carry out ATM replenishment 2. Carry out secure cash replenishment service SFS CVT9 1
2 Performance criteria Prepare to carry out ATM replenishment You must be able to: P1 P2 P3 P4 P5 P6 obtain sufficient relevant information of the days schedule for ATM replenishment ensure that you have sufficient stocks of documentation supplies and equipment required for the days duty wear relevant items of personal protective equipment properly adjusted ensure that you have the required identification documentation before leaving the depot resolve any preparation problems that are within the limits of your authority and responsibility report any preparation problems that you cannot deal with, in accordance with your company procedures Carry out secure cash replenishment service You must be able to: P7 P8 P9 P10 P11 P12 P13 P14 P15 P16 P17 P18 P19 P20 use appropriate safety and security equipment for the ATM replenishment service, in accordance with your company procedures comply with your company procedures relating to the maximum values that can be transferred to or from vehicles maintain communication with colleagues, departments and third parties, as appropriate, during the ATM replenishment service, complying with your approved company procedures maintain vigilance at all times, reporting any suspicious activity in line with your company procedures use safe manual handling methods at all times operate security systems at customer premises, to ensure safety and security at all times during and after the replenishment service carry out the required replenishment service according to your schedule carry out the ATM replenishment service safely, efficiently and effectively, in order to minimise risk to self, others and the consignment resolve operational problems with ATMs that are within the limits of your responsibility, authority and capability, and in line with company procedures provide required data from ATMs in accordance with customer requirements and your company procedures record and report any discrepancies identified during replenishment service using approved documentation and your company procedures remove, and store securely, any surplus items from ATMs carry out replacement of ATM consumables when required ensure the operational effectiveness of ATMs prior to leaving customer s premises SFS CVT9 2
3 Knowledge and understanding Prepare to carry out ATM replenishment You need to know and understand: K1 K2 K3 K4 K5 K6 what documentation is required by your company and the relevant financial institution what items of personal protective equipment you are required to wear, your company procedures for obtaining these items and correct way in which this clothing is worn and adjusted the supplies that may be required during the ATM replenishment service and how to obtain these supplies what identification documentation you are required to carry and what action you should take if you do not have any of these documents your company procedures for reporting problems, and to whom you should report problems with preparations the limits of your own authority and responsibility SFS CVT9 3
4 Carry out secure cash replenishment service You need to know and understand: K7 K8 K9 K10 K11 K12 K13 K14 K15 K16 K17 K18 K19 K20 K21 K22 K23 K24 K25 what items of safety and security equipment should be used when transferring items to or from the vehicle how to use the equipment and what action you should take if the equipment does not function correctly your company procedures relating to insurance limits and maximum values that can be transferred to or from vehicles what items of personal protective equipment you should wear, both inside and outside vehicles how to ensure that personal protective equipment is properly adjusted in order to maintain your safety and security what sort of activity might be considered to be suspicious, and what action you should take if you think that people are acting suspiciously how to communicate with colleagues during collections or deliveries how to use communication equipment, and what action you should take if communication equipment does not function correctly how to lift and handle goods safely the functions and features of security systems and alarms at customer s premises how to arm and disarm security systems and alarms the different types of cash replenishment service required by customers the process for loading cassettes into ATMs, and the identification process used by your company and the customer to identify the denomination of notes in cassettes what action you should take if you identify discrepancies when carrying out the cash replenishment service what information you may be required to produce and who should be in receipt of this information the limits of your authority and responsibility to resolve operational problems the process for reporting problems that fall outside your authority and responsibility the process for dealing with items removed from ATMs, i.e. how to store items securely, where items should be returned to how to ensure that ATMs are functioning correctly, and what action you should take if there are problems with machines SFS CVT9 4
